I believe in what Rousseau said: "I disagree with what you said but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

To that end, I think I don't like the banning of Parler.

I say "I think" because I really know nothing about it. If they were actively using it to plot this coup, that's different, but if it's just a lot of right-wing conspiracy theorists blabbing their usual crazy bullshit, who cares?

Trump wanted to use our own U.S. military for his coup January 6th.

Ass wipes. In NJ, the State Police will take care of business.

Probably some kind of mistake but I'm guessing the implication is that the 25th was quietly enacted?
I'm guessing he resigned under pressure and tried to buy some leverage on his way out ...maybe with a pardon deal from Pence...this is interesting

My wife and I were talking about the consequences of the impeachment. One aspect that many of us don't realize is that trump gets a pension and free med benefits if he leaves without impeachment. I don't want to support his sorry ass and if he is impeached later rather than sooner Congress should do it. I wonder if he is entitled to secret service protection if impeached? That would cost more than his after office benefits. If he accepts a resignation, then we pay.

I don't think anyone is "banning" Parler (certainly not the government, afaik). Private companies are refusing to do business with them by not hosting their platform. That's entirely different than government censorship.

Who said anything about the government? Not me. I mean Google, Apple, and Amazon dropping the service from their platforms. Banning. I didn't say censoring.

read the whole tweet. It clearly says at least 10 senators depending on how the house frames it

Eh, you are right. I assumed this was the prior report that as many as 10 in the House would vote yes. My bad!

If impeached, Trump would lose his SS protection - saw that mentioned in a few articles.

no it’s not enough but it’s really close and a lot more than the first impeachment. Who’s to say some more wont also turn. You only need 67

Fewer if you first expel Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley.

Well, a boy can dream...
