Collins has done more bad than good. The guy is 7ft, being paid what, 11 mill a year?! What has he done? Can't jump, misses layup's, can't shoot, can't rebound, basically, the guy can't play! I don't care if he sets the best picks in the NBA, get him out!

OK, then from now on, we can not attack any players, because his sucking due to the coach just plays him.

What a good logic, can we call JCB the king of logic ?

Thats the reason why I want Magloire to take the starting C spot, he can just do more than this guy.

Part of me thinks that if Frank were really rightously keeping Magloire out of the game because of the line up, he would have played a Boki-Sean front court more than he did.

The other part of me wonders who would have then taken Boki's spot on the wing, and realizes how Carter's injury hurts us more than we may think.

I wouldn't think in absolutes. It can be a mixture of bad playing and bad coaching.

Isnt he payed 6mil a year?(Idk)

And yes jarkid, you can bash players, but methinks all this aggression should really be placed on Frank, not Collins. Collins may have fucked up in the fourth but Frank was pretty much bad for most of the game with his decisions.

Also, we need an enforcer and its coming in the form of Williams, but he is still young/inexperienced to make a Kmart like impact yet. Magliore, though known for these qualities, isnt going to get the job done consistently. Allen is garbage, and Boone hasnt improved at all. Krstic is still getting used to the game, so the only big who is doing their job consistently is Collins(defense, picking off defenders from our wings, boxing out so kidd cant jet to fastbreak mode). Despite his huge offensive defiencies, he is the only big doing his role well(aside fromWilliams, but again experience plays a huge factor).

At least if Magloire was in the game, he could protect the rebound very well, and not to make that turnover to be a four points play. FUCK YOU. This is a sad day for me.. fuck

And again, who's fault is that?

But Collins' fault for that play, that's for sure. No doubt, if he has protected that rebound well, we are fine now.

Can you just stop defending this fucking bullshit nonsense for Collins?

You are twisting my words.

I said im blaming frank for this game. I already said Collins fucked up during the fourth quarter. What part of that are you not getting?

And i defending his play aside from the fourth quarter.

So why were you asking me whose Fault ?

Also jarkid, I dont love Collins, but i dont ignore what he brings to the table. A role player who does specific things on both ends of the floor that helps the nets win, which he has proven sucessfully in the past and present.

Plus, he is paid like a backup big(E.Thomas, blount) and that is what he is talent wise. If anything, blame management for not getting "his replacement"(at least till Williams comes and starts beasting
wink.gif
)

His turnover andfoul to let the Hornets make the 4 points play, that's being well said.

His negative >>>>>>>>>>>>> positive.

Everyone has his good side, but his dark side is way better than his bright side.

I've had it with this bullshit. He's 7 ft tall and he can't do shit other then play ok defense. How the fuck could he allow Paul to slap that rebouund away from him? Stop playing him already, christ mother sakes.

i think i was one of the original collins haters and i think that he needed to go 5 years ago when the nets choose to play him over A-train, but thats another story. He can stay but only as a specialist and even then the youngins should have the first chance at playing time. Even if that means we will drop a few games, because trading a few early games for playoff depth is worth it!

Is there some sort of misinterpretation here? Im refering to this: "at least if magloire was in the game", and i said that it was frank's fault he didnt play.

It's Collins fault for getting mopete the 4 point play, but it was frank's fault for keeping collins in the fourth despite stinking it up, and not playing magloire at all.

Hey SMX welcome to the other side! If you have any questions about S2 shoot me a PM

I missed the last 5 minutes because sopcast cut out, and apparently he screwwed up badly, but I thought Collins was fantastic for the rest of the game. He did a great job getting Chandler out of the way early, he shut down Armstrong, and he was pretty good on West.

I don't know why you guys are so worked up over this game. Yes, it was winnable, but the fact is it was winnable despite Carter not playing and subpar performances from his replacements Boki and Wright.

Putting Allen back in the game was Frank's biggest mistake, IMO.

Long time reader, first time poster on this site. And Collins ineptitude has made me do it! This is 6 plus years of this garbage from Collins. Enough is enough! But, It's no longer on him. It's on the coaches for having him out there. We all now he is 7-ft of basura. Bringing him back in for those last few minutes may have been the worst coaching decision I've ever seen. Do you think Paul makes that shot if Williams was in the game? No effin' way!

I thought Collins played pretty well in this game.

It was Williams' absence that cost the Nets, not Collins' presence.

When you say played well, you mean according to Collins' previous standards, right? A couple of offensive rebounds doesn't make up for getting stripped and fouling a 3 point shooter. That sequence sums up his horrid career. I do agree it's Franks' fault for having him out there. Frank better put this game on himself in the postgame interview. But he probably won't.

No, I mean he contributed some nice defense and did what he generally does.

In the first quarter, he had some excellent possessions on both ends.

And I don't agree that Collins shouldn't have been on the court in the fourth quarter, just that Sean Willams should not have been taken out.

Collins played a lot better in this game than Boki Nachbar.

How come nobody starts threads about his crappy play?

I am disappointed that he hasn't shown any improvemnet.

Actually, I'm pretty surprised you didn't bring up Krstic. He was just as much of a reason for the loss as Collins. Is everyone giving him a free pass because he's recovering from injury?

I'm giving him a free pass because he didn't draw up a play giving him a fadeaway buzzer beater, and he had a double double tonight.

QUOTE (ghoti)

Or Malik Allen. Nachbar was 2-6 with 5 turnovers. Collins was 0-0 with 1 turnover and a steal. Malik was 1-4 in 20 minutes with zeros across the board. Armstrong once again had just one assist, although one turnover which is an improvement. Collins was stripped of the ball, and for that he gets everyone's anger? If you watch it again, you'll see that Kidd was standing right next to him, and it seemed as though Collins wasn't sure whether to hand him the ball. It seemed like there was a miscommunication.

One thing that no one realises, or notices, is that Collins is the quarterback on defense--he shouts out instructions to everyone, especially when he switches on defense. Watch, you can see him twist his head and his mouth moving ALL THE TIME. There's a reason why the Nets play pretty good defense when he's in the game. Also, there's a reason why the Nets are an above-average rebounding team when he's in the game, despite Collins individually being a below-average rebounder.

You could have all the talented players in the world and the team could suck because they don't know how to play together. Look at, for instance, Charlotte and Atlanta for the last few years. Collins helps make the Nets an above-average team. Of course he's not a complete player--few players are--but with Collins, he's either great at something or terrible at something, which to me suggests that you should be able to maximize his positives and minimize his negatives if you surround him with the right players on the court. To me, that does NOT include Krstic, but may very well be Sean Williams. Williams would be a monster playing next to Collins, I believe.

You all unfairly heap all the blame on Collins when the team isn't playing well or doesn't win. You are all pathetic.
