@DarnellMayberry Bower's recently willingness to trade Chris Paul created tensions between him and ownership, sources say.

Not good news, if this guy is at all credible
With Bower gone, all bets are off regarding Chris Paul. Earlier in the week, there was no chance of Paul getting dealt. Now? Not so sure.
I thought that Bower had been openly seeking other opportunities on other teams. I seem to remember that he interviewed for one of the other GM openings, maybe it was NJ. Can't remember. Weird shiznit man.
The New Orleans Hornets owner has a current estimated net worth of $100,000,000
@ WojYahooNBA There had been increased tension between Shinn family and Bower, but no one saw this coming now. Shinn father and son duo NBA's worst combo.
does Monty have the juice to get KP hired? Does he want to?
DarnellMayberry: not out of the question that Hornets president Hugh Weber names himself GM
@ticktock6 Don't believe any bullshit about "Shinn was upset over Bower's openness to trading Paul" ... Shinn & fam run everything.
@ticktock6 If Bower did any such thing, I have no doubt it was b/c he was told to.
@ticktock6 Have long suspected Shinn is the one responsible for all the sneaky little leaks to the press & jabs at other ppl
@ticktock6 I wouldn't put it past Shinn to replace Bower with his son who has a high school education AND IS TEAM VP....
Good shit right here
@ticktock6 Our situation is just as much of a shitstorm as the one Pritchard just left. STAY AWAY, SIR. FAR FAR AWAY.
i don't want to trade batum for 1 year of chris paul (2011 lockout, signs with knicks in 2012)
If anything it could be the opposite. Perhaps Shinn is willing to move Paul, but Bower just didn't want to be the one to do it? Hmmm
Probably reading to much into it, but it doesn't seem as if that guy who reported about the firing because of Bower willing to trade Paul is becoming exactly true.
Going out on a limb here... Could he have been fired for NOT trading CP or at least NOT finding a fair value trade![]()

Writes SI.com's Chris Mannix:
Expect Kevin Pritchard to be on any short list to replace Bower.
Adds FanHouse's Sam Amick:
League source says former Port. GM Kevin Pritchard would have interest in rejoining w/ N. Orleans coach/former Blazers asst. Monty Williams.
