<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">Wow... simply wow. How much more damage can Isiah do?

Actually, Isiah has the right mindset to build a little more balance in his team, especially on the defensive end and in passing the ball, but I think it's too little, too late to introduce these elements when the owner told him he's got one year to seek improvement. Dolan probably shouldn't have suggested this was Isiah's last year or else and expected him to draft for the future. Isiah just might not be around to even care if Marcus Williams turns out to be a badass Knick. Bad on Dolan's part for opening his mouth.

The other thing is can any of these guys bring immediate impact to the game? What about shooting? Some of these guys like Bruce Bowen or whoever can still shoot if needed to. We don't know what the rookies are like in a real nba game or if Jared Jeffries can be consistent enough at shooting. Otherwise passing will definitely be an issue if guys play the passing lanes and basically force these guys to shoot or to put the ball on the floor. Like all good defenders, the team still needs to play team and help defense. I don't know if the other four guys will get up and help each other out. I don't get this feeling from Marbury, Crawford, Qrich, Rose, Curry, or any of these guys. Maybe the rookies, but definitely not the vets.</div>
Thanks for swinging by, custodian. Anyway, I couldn't agree more. Isiah just seems to be making desperation moves to save himself instead of the organization. He must be stopped.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be set on fire.

No problem. I was probably stating the obvious, though. But I can relate to Knicks fans woes regarding lame GM moves.

Well, considering the article has been post on 7-28-06, and today is 8-2-06, if you do the math, you will come out with 5 days.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Washington Wizards will not match the New York Knicks five-year, $30 million offer sheet extended to restricted free agent forward Jared Jeffries last week, a league source told SI.com. Jeffries will become property of the Knicks on Monday.

The 6-foot-11 Jeffries averaged 6.1 points per game in 77 games (all starts) with Washington and was considered one of the top remaining free agents on the market.

Last week Knicks president Isiah Thomas -- who shares the same Indiana alma mater as Jeffries -- signed Jeffries to a frontloaded contract that included a lump payment of $6 million when he signs as well as a trade kicker.

The writing appeared to be on the wall for Jeffries when the Wizards agreed to terms earlier Saturday on a one-year deal (plus a second with a player option) with free agent forward DeShawn Stevenson, a less expensive alternative who averaged 11.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 82 starts with Orlando last season.</div>

Is this supposed to be good news or bad news? Jefferies is an unselfish player and is great on the defensive end, which is exactly what the Knicks need. But with Jeffries signed, what's going to happen to Balkman? And isn't Jefferies another swing man? I thought you guys had enough of those. Also, he didn't really come that cheap........

That's a good sign for the Wizards. It won't put them near the the luxury cap, by matching an offer on a guy that doesn't do a whole lot besides play defense for the Wizards. Signing DeShawn Stevenson was the right choice and was able to let Jeffries to go to New York.

I wonder what all this does to David Lee, the guy with a body in between SF and PF but plays more like a center. I like his game, but I wonder if he has the skill level to play like a power forward, because he's got excellent athleticism, fundamentals for a guy who played center in college. But a power forward has to develop those perimeter skills or he's an undersized center with a SF/PF body.

It seems like the Knicks got a lot of dudes in between SF and PF that play like a lot of other things. Anybody dread these kind of tweeners? I mean I like David Lee and Jerome Williams because they're fan favorites, but all they'll be is bench players unless they got the upside.
