Is he on the outs in Chicago? If he was, would anyone be in favor of picking him up?

I can imagine that the answer from the majority will be an emphatic no - Noah is one of those players who divides people into "hate him" and "despise him", but I actually think two things that need defending:

(a) he could be useful: he's skinny, but he's a decent rebounder and shotblocker, and he was a great lockerroom guy in college. Lots of people like to compare him with Varejao, and while he's not as wide as Sideshow Andy, he's similarly pesky to the other team. (I know, it's mainly because of the hair, but there are more similarities.) And Frye's not getting it done on defense against PFs.

(b) he wouldn't be a poison: he's been in trouble in Chicago, most notoriously when his own team voted to extend his suspension (!), but I have a feeling that the losing wears on him worse than most given his college experience, and he'd really relish coming to a winner.

At the moment the defense seems to suffer a lot when LaMarcus is out, and I think Noah can do a lot of the same things (he's got nimble feet for a near seven-footer and can pressure on the permimeter) as well as rebound maybe better.
 
Didn't want him coming out of Florida and don't want him now. He's got a terrible attitude and just doesn't do anything particularly well on the basketball court.

I think Noah would be a fantastic backup PF for this team. Put him in a good environment where he is enjoying playing and define exactly what you need from him (hustle, crashing the boards, playing respectable defense) and he will flourish.
 
I say do it if its reasonable. He's grown considerably, is actually decent at defense.....would be weird to have him and Oden on the same team!

would be pretty interesting personality-wise on the team.

Please say no to NOah. :-) He has no skill outside of 5 feet from the basket and would only get in Oden or Przybilla's way if they ever played in the same unit. We need a skill PF hit shots out to 18 feet and who can defend not one that has no skills and only hustles.

I don't regret the trade. I was in the pro-Aldridge camp.

Noah is seen as a wasted draft pick. After about 4 minutes of game action, he will be out of breath.

Tyrus Thomas still has some defenders, but they are few.

At the end of the day, Thomas/Noah have played a big role in making the Bulls the worst team team at both big man positions. On the bright side, their sucktitude landed us Derrick Rose.

Noah is not a bad passer for a big man and when in shape (something he is not this year, I have no clue why - I do not follow the Bulls that close) he actually moves his feet pretty well doing a decent job on pick-and-roll on guards - so he does have a couple of good skills outside of the 5 ft range from the basket.

For a backup PF - you really do not need much more, IMHO - he could be the opposite of Travis for the backup PF position - for games where we need interior help and having a backup PF that is bigger than the opposition instead of a smaller and quicker PF that can shoot from the outside - that we have with Travis.

Joakim Noah is out of shape because he spent his entire summer smoking pot and drinking booze.
 
I'd take him at backup PF. Then maybe Joel wouldn't be by himself in trying to rebound with the second unit. I don't like Noah as a lottery pick and starting PF/C on a team, but I like him a lot as a backup PF, hustle player.

Where can you get a metal spork? Camping stores or something? I would imagine that they make them, just haven't seen one.

It might be telling that the only thing that interests me in a thread about Noah is a spork. Noah is the type of player I don't like watching play, even if you are winning.
 
Noah is basically a Mark Madsen type. A hustle player who doesn't do anything well. Madsen was glorified due to being a backup on a championship team...of course, he was a backup at arguably the Lakers' weakest position of that era.

Honestly, I'd rather see what Diogu can do given steady minutes. Diogu has been productive when given minutes, in the past.

I'm not ready to give up on Noah. He had a very solid rookie year. I'm not sure what all has contributed to his fall apart this year, but the Bulls have a lot more to gain by hoping he turns it around than by trading him for dogshit.

Tyrus, on the other hand, has pretty much worn out his welcome, at least with me.
 
I would be very excited at the prospect of acquiring Noah for spare parts like Frye and Diogu. When given time, Noah has produced well in rebounds, blocks, and even assists. I think he would be a great energy guy to have off the bench and not have to worry about him taking shots away from our second unit.
 
Noah is a bust, plus he doesn't have basketball first as his priorities, and has a bad attitude. Stay away from him.
 
I would trade Channing Frye for Noah straight up.
