It was always said before Paul's death that Jody didn't like sports and didn't want anything to do with the Blazers. So far Olshey has flat out said that she doesn't interfere with basketball decisions the way Paul did.Why do people assume no basketball knowledge and lack of real commitment?
Do you really mean lack of Y chromosome?
Now you're just mansplaining. Chauvinist. It was always said before Paul's death that Jody didn't like sports and didn't want anything to do with the Blazers. So far Olshey has flat out said that she doesn't interfere with basketball decisions the way Paul did.
So no, the fact that she's a woman isn't the reason.
Her lack of basketball knowledge could end up helping her as an owner.
Paul, like most owners, wanted to have some input from time to time. Jody seems happy to root for the team while Neil/Stotts/Dame run the show.

I never said she wasn't involved. Notice how McGowan's quote included the word "major". Jody can be involved without interfering the way Paul did with the draft and free agency. That doesn't mean she can't or won't do so in the future as she integrates herself into the organization.“She’s super involved,” McGowan said. “Obviously, very involved on all major decisions.
Jody is very involved in decision making. She isn't just sitting back and letting the boys do whatever. Maybe she doesn't interfere as much, but she is very involved. I think the longer she is the owner, the more she will be involved.
Paul wasn't super involved at first. He became a fan and engrained himself in the team.

Both Olshey and McGowan have said she doesn't interfere the way Paul did. There is no argument to this.

What do you believe personally? Do you agree with this statement "Her lack of basketball knowledge could end up helping her as an owner." ?It was always said before Paul's death that Jody didn't like sports and didn't want anything to do with the Blazers. My point is that her lack of knowledge and ownership style isn't because she's a woman. There are plenty of basketball knowledgeable women.Wouldn't

I saw her cheering at a Blazers game back in the mid 90s when the team was pretty mediocre.
