Going to need to add Naz to CJ in order to find a trade partner. It would need to be a really good player. Could be Simmons?

Will Joe make a move before 1/15/22?
Im thinking next week he pulls the trigger on a fairly major trade involving CJ & some.

I'm guessing CJ has to come back and play a bit first.

Yep, anyone trades for CJ they are going to see him play a few games to make sure he is healthy
Could be but not necessarily. Physicals are involved with any trade. Chances are the guy we get will have past injuries.

...and ideally, they will rest Dame for those first few games CJ comes back so he can inflate the hype and Dame can get refreshed again before new help arrives!

Nice random date, it's the date that everyone on the roster is officially available to trade.
I didn't think Norm could be traded this soon after getting his contract...I thought we had to wait until summer to consider trading him.

Jan 15th I believe

Never heard of anyone not being able to be traded for a year after signing, is that even a thing

fanspo.com made it look like it was a thing and there were some of us in here that thought it was a thing until just recently but when looking at other sites and the CBA, Norm and any other player signed using bird rights that took a pay increase of 20% or more can be traded January 15th. The only reason that makes sense to me about fanspo being wrong is that the modified date due to the late start last season was March 3rd and fanspo never updated it to this season's league calendar.

Norm can be traded, for sure, on January 15th but not before that.

Cronin is stuck right now. He needs to trade CJ or Norm but CJ’s hurt and Norm can’t be traded this month. Must be frustrating. If those things weren’t true, trades probably would already be made.

Fire Joe!

Too early? :bwpopcorn:
Well, he's had 12 days and CJ who I think all of us are hoping that he trades isn't able to pass a physical right now. So yeah... a little too soon but if he doesn't make major changes by the deadline then just hire someone else... you don't even have to fire him because he's the interim GM.

Ainge should’ve been the hire.

Any experienced GM would recognize the mess (created by Neil) and would blow it up right away.

I think almost every GM in the league would look at what Dame is still able to do and think that they have to make responsible moves to build a complementary team around him. I doubt many GMs, including Danny Ainge would want to trade a player as great, as popular and therefore as marketable as Dame if Dame doesn't want traded. So the fact that Cronin hasn't made a move on day 18 doesn't really tell me the guy is dragging his feet. In fact I have no clue what his strategy for "enhancing" this roster is and neither do you. I don't think we would know the strategy of any GM, if another had been in place to take over for Olshey.

It's just way way too soon for you to be talking this shit. Now if the trade deadline comes and goes and we still look the same or even very similar, I'll be right there with you. This team needs big changes but setting those up and making sure you choose the right option and that you've exhausted all possibilities is the only responsible way to go about doing this and it takes a little time... more time than 18 days; especially with CJ out of commission because if it's a team that is competitive they will want CJ ready to go and contribute to their win total from day one.

Cronin in the background? Or does Dame hate Schonz? :dunno:

EDIT: nevermind, that's Jason Quick...oops!! :biglaugh:

Btw - I agree, I believe he’s taking a shot at Cronin.

I wonder why? :bored::bwpopcorn:

1st thought, "whys he PO'ed at Shonz?" , then I saw Quick behind him.
Wonder if he's got a :dunno: text from Shonz yet?

Depressing is the operative word for me re the Blazers, depressing season, depressing outlook, poor trade assets unless Dame is moved, yuck

If you think guys like CJ, Powell, Simons, Nas along with Roco are poor trade assets your assessment of the league and/or those players is off, no offense.
