Don’t forget that Cronin answers to someone. Spock’s brethren might be holding deals back, and by might be, I mean absolutely are
To what end? If we can get under the tax, why would Vulcan care about anything else? I would think they would be cool with Cronin trading away anyone not named Dame because he's the only guy who is worth more to the organization than just his play on the court, due to his marketability and status as a franchise all time great.

From what I am able to gather, which is littl, there are a ton of moving parts

Yes. Have you not seen the Blazers’ record lately? We’re looking up at mediocrity.
Not really. Sure for this year. This trade made it harder to put a contending team around Dame moving forward.

Nurk for Thomas Bryant

You know Sloppy Joe is salivating at this opportunity

I'll give Joe this, at least he's doing something. He already seems to have way more nutsack than O'charlaton.

Joe has to prove himself, and he's showing he knows the cap and make moves. Olshay just didn't want to get his ass fired and was risk adverse.

I wonder if Neo is jealous of Joey for having the opportunity to swing for the fences with his bat.

Why would Olshey care? The way things usually go in the NBA he will be back in a front office job sooner rather than later. If Cronin loses his job with the Blazers, he will never get near the top of the organization chart again. Even for a fire sale his performance has been weak.

More likely he is gloating that he escaped just in time.

As I said at the time of the trade Winslow has game if he stays healthy. He brings good D, passing, toughness. 3 pt shot below par but at 4 mil next yr a great pickup - IMO he is easily worth more than this seasons Roco version IF healthy. Also let's see what Keon brings "if" he's still on the team after today! Trader JOE GO!

If only we'd gotten a first outta that deal it would have been a lot easier to swallow.

I get your point, but it's irrelevant. It's like taking a bet on a high beta stock and having it pay off. So what? You're supposed to be rewarded for making the high-risk move. We took all the downside and will be lucky if we break even on this deal. We should have been rewarded with assets.
