Dame/Giannis/Middleton is arguably the favorite in the East now.

We have the ultimate anti-Dame. We have the weapon that Boston/Miami/Philly would need to deal with Dame.

Not sure how much we can get for Jrue and while I hope that we could send him out before media day, it could take until the trade deadline.

Gonna be funny when he trades Jrue to Miami for their crap deal of Herro/Jovic and picks and then flips Herro for a pick and a player or something.
I wonder if Jovic was in the deal? I know some guys in the room like his game

Would East teams have been reluctant to join the trade initially if their facilitating getting Dame to Milwaukee?

Perhaps that's why Cronin decided to complete this first Dame part of the deal but do the Jrue part as a separate second deal.

Now that the Dame Milwaukee part is done, those East teams may be more receptive to join a non Dame trade.

Yeah here my dumbass was, thinking 2 unprotected 1sts and 2 pick unprotected swaps was the best we might get.

Cronin gets the 2 (better, imo) unprotected swaps already and gets the 1st pick. He inflates the value on all so-called “Dame-stoppers” sells the most valuable one, all we know is he will already be at least 1 unprotected 1st over the 2 1sts 2 swaps package.

Out-dueling Pat and temporarily shaking the East for potentially the next 100ish hours would already be better than anything Olshey has ever done in his tenure combined. I’m glad a compromise was met, obviously the Heat-only demand was preposterous, but Cronin can say he put Dame in the best position to get what he wanted.

I’ll applaud Cronin for the trade thus far. Finish the job.

Ironically, trading Dame to the eastern conference has increased Jrue Hollidays value

That is in addition to tanking and drafting Shaedon Sharpe and Scoot Henderson, which could be the best backcourt (in total) the Blazers have ever seen.

If he pulls off something big in return for Jrue, I'll be singing his praises... we're still just in wait and see mode for a little longer.
Wow you're hard to please. I'm sure he will get at least one FRP out of this and likely more. He cleared the dead wood, and almost certainly gave Dame a chip and the ability to come back at the tail end of his career. It wasn't perfect, but unlike the TOR and BKN trades where we get the haul, he pretty close to ensured Dame wins a chip. We can now root for the Buck with ease in our hearts, and those Bucks picks will most likely look amazing in 5-7 years.
