Jordan Kent out, Calabro in talks to come back

The franchise will be relocating to Seattle soon.

Just how is it that you feel alienated? I sure don't. It seems to me that it's fans that are doing the alienating of things....the moving schtick about Seattle....the front office valet parking...on and on....Stotts coached McMillan in Seattle and McMillan played for the Sonics....didn't see all this stuff back then....hiring from the PNW is a local hire in my view...all the rest of this is just gossip fodder....comparing Kevin Calabro to Sarah Palin? Really? Jordan Kent is a local...that doesn't make me want to listen to him and hiring him isn't building a bigger fanbase...

Because, they are changing TV networks to bend over backwards for possible fans in Washington and Alaska and now local Oregon fans like me can't watch the games unless we go back to Comcast. That feels pretty alienating.

I love the idea of Calabro and Hurd again. But I want to thank Jordan For stepping in and giving it his all. Great professionalism and spirit during the Blazer Broadcast made for a lot of fun. I wish him, and his family all the best, and hope he gets a new gig soon. Blessings Jordan.

Hulu has live sports. You can get Root with any firestick or Roku.

Nice Post! Great way to look at it.

Calabro is a HoF broadcaster. If he wants to come back to Portland, I think it makes a lot of sense.

I thought Kent actually did pretty well, and given his lack of experience doing play by play, I think he did exceptionally well. With that being said, cutting one's teeth at the highest level is rough, and I get why the Blazers would make the move (even if it surprises me).

As a quick aside: I'm delighted the Blazers are going to ROOT. I needed to pay extra for Comcast Sports NW, for some reason, and don't need to for ROOT, so it'll make it more likely (and cheaper) that I'll be able to watch games without streaming them from shady websites :)

I challenge you to enter a thread and not make it about you/how you have been slighted/why you are misunderstood. Just one. Comeon, I know you can do it OB!

keep it about the post and not the poster. Isnt that right @SlyPokerDog ???

Not gonna let myself derail another thread by calling out OB for no reason.

Carry on.

I like Calabaro OK, and at least I won't have to hear Kent's insistence on saying, every damn time, "Derrick Jones JR" " Gary Trent JR" for another year.

ftfy

Since i moved back to Colorado, i'm going to have to get League Pass, but i would love to get Root here. I have Hulu, but can't access watching the Rockies. I know some would say, that's a lucky break, but i love watching them anyway. Still hope to finally get back to the Rose City. Eugene was a dead end for me, both financially & health wise as a severe allergy induced asthmatic.

He wasn't terrible. He's a good play-by-play announcer at some college level, possibly but not probably a major national program.

Seattle fans were more important when they fired both mikes. MB should still be our dude.
This about sums it up, imo.
We need to be de-centralized from the Seattle mothership.
New owner is what Im hoping for down the road or sooner.

"AT&T Sports Network president Patrick Crumb told The Athletic on Thursday that ROOT Sports will being speaking with streaming services such as Fubo TV, Hulu and YouTube about getting the network on those platforms."

And that changes the fact that hulu doesnt carry Root sports? I vividly remember the same statements being made about streaming and satellite providers when they signed with CSN...

Uh. You can stream and get CSN through satellite providers. No it's not free.
