Trade Josh Hart traded to the Knicks (2 Viewers)

I'm fine with trading Hart for a pick and taking a flyer on Reddish.

But this signals to me the team isnt looking to try and win this season. That might be a good thing.

Saving money has me concerned though.

Now if we could flip Nurk for an expiring that would be great.

It clears enough room that the Blazers could sign a vet FA. It may also mean another trade is coming.

If today is any indication, Sharpe is gonna ply a lot more minutes.

Haven’t made a comment on this forum in acouple months.

If no other moves are made, it signals tank to me. I said I’d be excited whether or not we tanked or were a top 4 team, anywhere in between was where I would be uninterested in this team. A mid-lotto pick and a pick around 20 is fine with me. Our lotto pick can still be a top 6 pick if Dame sits.

except they are at 16 active players and can only have 15. Either need another trade or cut someone. If they are going to sign someone they might need both.

Make a trad, make a trade, make a trade. Trade is made. Whaaaa!!! I hate all of this! Joe sucks! Cry! Cry! this fucking place. Too bad we couldn't move Hart for Webanama. That was his value, right?

You are missing the point. We are all tired. Tired of mediocrity. Tired of zero vision. Zero guts. I fully believe that Cronin wants to make moves but can't, as in, isn't allowed to by the Vulcans and an owner who sees the team as a line item on an asset sheet. They are first and foremost focus on protecting the value of the business. And a business in that kind of situation never rocks the boat. But this is nothing new: Paul Allen never had the stones to make big deals after Trader Bob (who did nothing wrong, he just swung for the fences and ended up popping out) failed to win a title and the team floundered. The organization never again, and without new ownership, will never take the risks necessary to win. I feel so sorry for Lillard.

I will admit before I heard about the protection on the 1st -- my grade for deal was like a - C maybe C minus -- but now that I know what it is giving this grade a solid B --- maybe could have been a little better maybe but who really knows and also waiting to see if anything else happens at the deadline. If the Blazers can find a taker for Nurk that would be a win cause talk about someone phoning it in that guy is like -- woohoo got paid now time to just do the bare minimum.

There’s roster work to be done, just saying there are more options than some are seeing.

BTW, is this saying a late 1st round pick is worth 4 second rounders???

I'm missing no point. People over value assets and bitch when we can't land a star. But Hart was likely to leave, and instead, we just got a 1st round pick that we could use in the offseason to hopefully get beyond that mediocrity. How are you missing that? What has more value this offseason, a S&T for Hart, or a 1st round pick? We aint doing shit this year. It's a bummer, but it's reality. Let's not fool ourselves. So do we let people walk for nothing? Or get an asset we can use to hopefully get out of mediocrity?
