His current "offer" is above-market. So, the risk of playing for the QO, and whether or not he gets injured, will he get a bigger deal next year? As fewer teams will likely have less cash to spend, and teams grow wary of the impending hard cap.... not likely.

I have a friend that lives in Portland, or where ever the hell Vancouver, Oregon is, and she says the town cries like a little girl anytime it snows more than a half an inch. Hipsters in Sota are tougher than hipsters in Oregeno!
 
Can you guys really blame Batum though? He is a civilized European, why would he want to play for an organization that has a big crybaby as an owner... and a team with a reputation of being full of thugs. Not to mention, Portland is a very gloomy city, lots of crime and homeless. Plus the team is pretty much going nowwhere fast. Last year they were a complete joke and mess. Bickering and pouting most of the season.

Meanwhile he has a chance to go to what most people say is one of the more promising up and coming teams in the league... with a roster that has one of the most charismatic PG's to come into the league in a long time.... has undoubtedly the best PF in the game who just signed a new contract. Just signed a player that Batum admires and has learned from in Roy. Has a coach that runs a system that is a perfect fit for Batums skills. Lastly is in a city that is clean, well managed, and some of the best fans on the planet.

The choice is easy.

Portland matching the Wolves offer would be like being married to Roseanne Barr while Jessica Biel is flirting with you. Trust me, when he goes back and has to crawl up on that smelly fat cheesecrotch wife named Portland, he is going to be dreaming the whole time about what could have been with that hot babe named Minnesota.
