Jrue Holiday trade ideas

id rather get one guy we really like than another flier we’re meh on. We have a fair amount of developing players on the roster rn. Though I suppose we’ll likely be moving grant or Tisse along at the deadline, opening up more minutes.

I agree with this. No matter what...the goal should be the best forward we can get that can start for us. He has to clearly offer something we don't already have.

How about Jabari Smith Jr. in Houston ? Or Amen Thompson?

Fred Van Vleet and Jrue in the backcourt could get them in the playoffs. (at least in their minds.)

They have too many forwards.
What makes you say they are not?

We never heard of Milwaukee then BOOM
and they gave up a very good player with unprotected pick/swaps.

Sixers don’t do something big this year and Embiid is likely ask out. That would be catastrophic to them. Rebuild time.

Jabari Smith Jr in a heartbeat
JSJ would be an amazing get.

It’d be funny to enter a rebuild with Scoot (#3), Shae (#7), DA (#1), and JSJ (#3)—you would’ve thought we had been rebuilding as long as the Pistons or Magic have been.

MIAMI is probably closer to trading Jimmy and rebuilding around Bam than adding Jrue and contending #onlyslightlycrazy

So with dame being introduced in Milwaukee today...how much longer do we have to trade jrue before we have to wait two months?

We won't have to wait at all.

We get a load of picks. Basically we traded Dame for 5 first round picks, which is the kind of haul many were looking for from the beginning. Tobias would fit in well in our rotation as well, though he'd only be a one year rental.

I don't believe it will happen with Miami, but let's assume:

Miami sends Lowry + Jovic + 2028 first (unprotected) + 2030 1st (top-10 protected)

that would mean, essentially, that Portland traded Dame + Nurkic + Little

for

Ayton plus 3 picks & 2 swaps 5-7 years from now (and no, I don't count Jovic & Camara as assets any more than I counted Keon Johnson)

I'm kind of not impressed with those exchanges. Makes me think the Blazers really need to trade Jrue for a really solid young player and a pick

Knock yourself out, Pat. Butler is too old to be the best player on a title winning team. Never happen. Anyone saying otherwise care to bet? I heard very few 34+ guys have been the "best" player on title winning teams: LBJ, Kareem, and Wilt I think. Those are 3 of the GOATs. Butler isn't even top 75. Never plays more than 65 games a year. The heat are fucked and I am delighted. Heat fans are fools if they think otherwise.

More and more I like golden state.

Woj said "all" teams in for Dame are in for Holiday.

Would be interesting to re-engage Toronto.
I wonder if that included Miami? saw something about a Utah/Miami/Por deal with Herro going to Utah, Lowry and stuff to POR, not sure what Utah sends (Collins/Olynk/one of their guards?) to Miami

so far no rumors about GS interest, yet there was none from Mil for Dame either, we will see

Meh. I think despite our hopes, given the reality of the market for dame it's not bad. I'm certainly with you that I hope we can extract one good young player as well even at the cost of a future first. However, I still like that package better than anything Miami was going to be able to offer up on their own (and flipping Herro elsewhere), as I probably like the Milwaukee picks and swaps more than most.

Little is kind of a "whatever" asset, and getting off Nurkic, who I liked okay but I think had VERY little league-wide value outside of Phoenix apparently, is a win.

It wouldn't be a home run, but frankly it is better then what I would have expected most of this summer.

I have a feeling that it's gonna be a 3-way with the Sixers and Clippers where Jrue goes to Philly, Harden to the Clippers and we get Terrence Mann (that Chauncey I remember being fond of from his time with the Clips) and Amir Coffey
