Yes and no. The Portland VA hospital is closed except for critical services such as emergency and dialysis. I had an appointment this morning and thought surely they were closed. Recently found out that the hospital was open for business today.
I wonder how many other agencies and private businesses could not yet implement the holiday. Mail was delivered today as was UPS.

Its a Federal Holiday now. Banks, Post Offices are closed, etc.

I don't get it off, but its a federal holiday. Most large corporations probably give it off now. My wife gets it off.
