seems like a weird game to bring Nurkic back. Against the Rockets and their small-ball roster?...really? Houston has been really successful at forcing other teams to match instead of the other way around

it does come after a 3 day break between games so I imagine they are anticipating some practice time
If YOU'D been out for a year, wouldn't you want to be guarded by someone 6 inches shorter than you?

Seems fine to me as we won't need him for many minutes.

that's only half the game though...who is he going to chase around on defense between PJ Tucker, Robert Covington, and Daniel House?

Something about this strikes me a tad funny. If "It's time", why is the time 9 days from now? If he's not ready yet, how does he know he'll be ready then?

good point

so then, this may be more of a target-date than a date-certain (sounds like my high school dating career)

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccck Yessssssssssssss!!!!!!

Awesome.

Hopefully he gets some practice time between now and 15th. Good to have a target date psychologically. Open ended rehabs probably are killer mentally.

Very well could be exactly what @Rastapopoulos said--figured the "little" team would be the easiest start.

I'd have more confidence in that if I could remember Stotts regularly forcing another team to match what he's doing, rather than the other way around. I can see it working for Portland if Dame and Nurkic had the timing down on the PnR but I think that's going to be a pretty rusty interaction

like I said I think the 'fact' they have 3 days off between games and that will allow for a practice before the game is a bigger factor than the opponent

Re: Collins
  • He's hopeful to get back to the court by March, and him beginning on-court work is a big step in his rehab. However, he's still not taking contact, so if he does return in March, it will likely be towards the second half of the month. He'll likely be very slowly worked back into things, and will need to compete with Carmelo Anthony for minutes, so he's not the best stash.
