Kanter?

Well, it is his name. Kan't er.

My diving coach used to tell me, "No such word as can't." Then he expected a kid beginner to do a double backflip off the high board.

The Thunder were 15-11 (.577) with Kanter and 30-26 (.536) without him. Inconclusive. I expected a sharper difference, either pro or con.

He has slow feet. I'm not a fan. But maybe he's a cheaper Hibbert?

If anything he's the exact opposite of Hibbert. Good at offense, completely inept at everything else.

Okay. I was thinking of two plodding Goliaths.

Kanter put up 18 ppg & 11 ppg with a 24.9 PER on 23.9 USG in 31 mpg after going to OKC. Per 82games, he only allowed a 15.4 PER to players he defended. He spent a lot of time on the floor at the same time as Adams, so I'd argue that he can play the 4 as well as the 5. IF LA does leave, we could definitely do worse than him as an LA replacement.

I want LMA back but... IF he leaves... work a S&T for Millsap (& whatever it takes to get Carroll also in a S&T). If LMA stays, I'd MUCH rather have Adams v. Kanter (hell... even if LMA leaves I'd rather have Adams, for a lot of reasons).

Young skilled offensive big. Seems like someone we should talk to

From what I can tell, Kanter was a big part of OKC being in the playoff hunt late in the season. They were winning without Durant. While he contributed to a poorer defense, I would venture a guess that his offense more than made up for it.
No, no...25 PER and .220 WS/48 is terrible and doesn't contribute to winning AT ALL!

Fakers didn't pick up Jordan HILL... w/ or w/o LMA I think we/Neil should talk to this man... offer him ~$9mill/yr. for 3-4yrs

I'll take your word for it as I'm not really a stats guy. I just was seeing his stats post-trade and not really looking at OKC's record which was bad.

Your sarcasm meter needs to be recalibrated.

It is Kanter or Harris or no one imo. (Jordan is not leaving LAC)

I bet it is no one though...

Bump.

The last big name on the market.

The longer LMA waits the more it's going to cost Portland the chance to land a FA -- Tobias Hsrris.

That 106 DRtg and -1.7 DBPM sure don't... but yeah he looks like he was pretty potent at getting to the line and making efficient shots. Offensively he was a dream for OKC.

I like the fact that he is only 23 and that he can grow with the rest our younger big men. Meyers, Vonleh and Kanter. Could be a very formidable front line some day.

Hibbert is a horrible comparsion. He's more like Brook Lopez.

I just do not hope we overpay for an overrated low post player with no defensive ability. Guys like Greg Monroe, Enes Kanter and AL Jefferson just don't make sense for our team.

How do you know he has "no defense"? Portland really needs a talented low post scorer. So far, all the guys we've acquired this offseason are "scrappers".

While OKC scored 109.6 points per 100 possessions with Kanter on the court, the most of any Thunder player, that offensive production was nullified by the Turkish Tower giving up 110.4 points. When Kanter sat, the team's scoring dropped to 106.2, but it also only allowed 103.3 points for a net rating of plus-2.7, per NBA.com.

In other words, the Thunder performed better with a guy averaging 18 and 11 sitting on the bench. Is that worth max money?

CBSSports' Matt Moore didn't pull any punches when talking about Kanter's brand of defense

On the other, it's hard to justify paying top dollar to a center who allowed opponents to shoot 61.2 percent from within six feet and 49.8 percent overall, per NBA.com, especially on a roster that isn't exactly stout defensively and with the depth the team already has down low.

This is my concern with Kanter - his defense is horrific. He's only 23 but I don't know if Stotts is the right coach for him to overcome this huge weakness. He needs Thibs.

With only two players on the roster who can create their own shot, which made us extremely predictable in the playoffs, maybe you bite the bullet with Kanter.
