One might suggest that the existence of multiple similar accusations at least constitutes evidence of their legitimacy, even if not proof.

While I acknowledge that it's certainly possible--maybe even likely--that the accusations are false and conspiratorial, it seems a bit hasty and irrational to simply dismiss them out of hand.

So then why not have an investigation to find out the truth?. Republicans have withheld 90% of available documents regarding Kavanaugh. Why? They also don't want an investigation. Again why? ...true, but at this point I think that the Dems feel like they have nothing to lose anyway...but yes, this could be very costly to both parties and could obviously shape the SC for many years to come and could also sway independents in the midterms to one side or another.

...this latest accuser seems credible to me, partly because if she's lying and is proven to be lying she could be prosecuted and serve jail time so I doubt she'd stick her neck out if her allegations were not true...she also seems to be on solid ground because of her clearance and years as a Gov employee.
