Not sure we should count any chickens yet. The nomination is one step closer now, and Flake is a pussy. If he wasn't a pussy, he'd have held up the committee vote for a week instead of what he did.

Wouldn't call him a pussy...since he's retiring I think maybe he's just wants to leave with a clear conscience.

I've thought that numerous times, and each time he caves in. Hopefully he has found some backbone, but I'm not betting on it.

...well you're right about not "counting our chickens"...there's still 5-6 Senators still riding the fence on Kavanaugh...and Flake did not stipulate that he'd vote to approve Kavanaugh if they agreed to investigate further for another week. But if I had to guess, I believe another week will hurt Kavanaugh more than Ford.

...I think the two women who confronted Flake at the elevator this morning got to him.
 
Murkowski says she's with Flake, which is good. She says the investigation should be 'limited in scope', which is bad.

Obama's pick was blocked because republicans controlled the senate. If democrats controlled the senate currently then Kavanaugh would be blocked. It's as simple as that.
 
But feel free to keep on buying into the obvious scam that is the United States.
 
They want to keep the scope narrow so it doesn't take months to investigate new claims being brought in to take up time as a tactic. Doesn't mean that new claims wont sway people if the FBI finds even some credible evidence on the existing claims though.

I'm guessing if the FBI gets involved he's done.

Oh and also that Graham flips once again. Trash!

I think the limited in scope is to focus on the testimony yesterday as opposed to doing a complete background check. It would be a shame if they also don't investigate the other two womens allegations though.
 
Manchin signs onto the Flake deal, good. Mark Judge agrees to be interviewed by the FBI, but only 'confidentially', whatever that means.

Seems clear that if this goes ahead, there will be clear evidence uncovered that Kavanaugh lied to the Senate numerous times, even if they find no evidence of sexual assault. Is perjury enough to derail a nomination? Should be, but of course the evidence of perjury is already obvious to anyone willing to look, and Republicans aren't.
