...^^^ "FAKE NEWS !"...but hey, that's nothing new, that's what some people do. They retweet or make false/inaccurate statements without merit.

1. There were 2 different go fund me accounts, which raised about $700K...not $1Mil.

2. Both accounts were closed and are no longer accepting donations. https://www.gofundme.com/help-christine-blasey-ford

3. She and her husband are not hurting for money.

4. She and her husband have incurred very large expenses just fo her to come forward and she already testified under oath that; “GoFundMe sites that have raised money, primarily for our security detail. So I’m not even quite sure how to collect that money or — and how to distribute it yet. I haven’t been able to focus on that.”

I am not disputing that you heard it. I am saying that it is not true that Dems 'didn't want to raise a ruckus' about Gorsuch.

There wasn't a hearing about Gorsuch's sexual assaults simply for the reason that no women (or men) ever accused Gorsuch of sexual assault.

Right.
No substantiated accusations about Kavanaugh either.

Right.
No substantiated accusations about Kavanaugh either.

The committee refused to call in any other witnesses so how can anything be substantiated at this stage and exactly why they called for an investigation. That's how the process is suppose to work.

Oh, so only 3/4 of a million dollars. Fromtwo fundraising accounts. Who knows if there are more, i'm willing to bet there are.

She literally plugged her go fund me during her testimony. She also received free legal representation from a high priced lawyer. Worth a few hundred grand.

They asked her for information regarding the go fund me, it's not like she brought it up unsolicited.

The GoFundMe campaigns came up after Rachel Mitchell, a prosecutor who questioned Dr. Blasey on behalf of Republican members of the committee, asked who had paid for a polygraph examination Dr. Blasey took as part of her sexual assault accusation against Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh, President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.

“I’m aware that there’s been several GoFundMe sites,” Dr. Blasey told Ms. Mitchell in response, adding that the money would be used for her family’s expenses as a result of her speaking out, including security protection, but that she did not yet know how to access or retrieve it.

No, she did not "literally" plug her go fund me account. Thinking so is being ignorant.

and what is wrong with that? I'd be more concerned that your hero is in love with a North Korean dictator while he is still married. :biglaugh:

Nothing is wrong, but she gained fame and fortune by doing this despite what people claim to the contrary.

This is a pretty good read if you have time on your hands. I'll quote part of the conclusion here, but note that the things mentioned in this passage are discussed in detail in the text.

He treated the public like we were idiots, like we wouldn’t notice as he pretended he was ralphing during Beach Week from too many jalapeños, as he feigned ignorance about sex slang, as he misread his own meticulously-kept 1982 summer calendar, as he replied to questions about his drinking habits by talking about church, as he suggested there are no alcoholics at Yale, as he denied knowing who “Bart O’Kavanaugh” could possibly be based on, as he declared things refuted that weren’t actually refuted, as he claimed witnesses said things they didn’t say, as he failed to explain why nearly a dozen Yale classmates said he drank heavily, as he invented an imaginary drinking game to avoid admitting he had the mind of a sports jock in high school, as he said Ford had only accused him last week, as he responded to his roommate’s eyewitness statement with an incoherent story about furniture, as he pretended Bethesda wasn’t five miles wide, as he insisted Renate should be flattered by the ditty about how easy she was, as he declared that distinguished federal judges don’t commit sexual misconduct even though he had clerked for exactly such a judge.

...yeah, you were off by 1/4 of a Mil..."fake news".

...any idea what expenses she incurred?...didn't think so.

...do you have any proof that there are more gofundme accounts?...didn't think so...as per usual you envision things in your mind and then simply post them whether they can be quantified or not...brilliant.

...so even though she did not want to be put into the public spotlight, she still somehow knew, she just knew that she'd end up with "fame and fortune"?

...gotta love that pretzel logic.

Death threats and having your name, address and home broadcast is totally worth the 700 grand they might or might not get via go-fundme.

...on top of that I'm not so sure that money would not be considered as income and therefore would also be taxable. And from what I understand the expenses for the whole fiasco including all sorts of security was quite pricey. And like I said, it's not like she and her husband were hurting for money to begin with.

Don’t know if this has already been mentioned but now former Trail Blazer Chris Dudley is involved:

(Chad Ludington) said Judge Kavanaugh had often become “belligerent and aggressive” while intoxicated during his first two years at Yale. Mr. Ludington recalled one incident in which he said Judge Kavanaugh threw a beer in someone’s face, “starting a fight that ended with one of our mutual friends in jail.”

That description was challenged by Chris Dudley, a former N.B.A. player and close friend of Judge Kavanaugh’s who attended Yale and played basketball with Mr. Ludington. Mr. Dudley said he was certain that he “never, ever saw Brett Kavanaugh black out” from drinking, and “never, ever saw him act inappropriately toward any woman in the 35 years that I’ve known him.”

Anyone in the news gets death threats nowadays. Sometimes liberals send them to themselves

...White House, Don Mcgahn, GOP, reportedly limiting scope of FBI investigation and the word is that Kavanaugh's drinking will not be looked into.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/po...vestigation-allegations-against-brett-n915061

According to the sources, the president’s Saturday night tweet saying he wants the FBI to interview whoever agents deem appropriate has not changed the limits imposed by the White House counsel’s office on the FBI investigation — including a specific witness list that does not include Julie Swetnick, who has accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in high school.

Also not on the list, the sources say, are former classmates who have contradicted Kavanaugh’s account of his college alcohol consumption, instead describing him as a frequent, heavy drinker. The FBI is also not authorized to interview high school classmates who could shed light on what some people have called untruths in Kavanaugh’s Senate Judiciary Committee testimony about alleged sexual references in his high school yearbook.
