And the Nets will no doubt be paying that small buyout in any deal they make...so the other team gets to dump whoever they're trying to dump and has to pay nothing but KVH's airfare to and from his physical. If the Nets involved KVH in a deal with Denver, they could send a car out to his house to pick him up.
I assume KVH's deal mirrors that of David Wesley's from last year. Wesley announced he was retiring but never put his retirement papers in. He has $1.75 million contract with a $250,000 buyout. So the Nets traded Ilic and Robinson and cash considerations to the Hornets for Wesley just before the season began. As soon as all three passed their physicals, they were released. It was the second time Wesley's contract had been traded. He had gone from the Cavs to the Hornets in return for Cedric Simmons.
