I remember there was a restaurant near River Rd. and McLoughlin that had a fantastic "Super Nacho". It appears it's called Stanley's Corner today. Can't remember the former name. That was back in the 80's.

I once bowled at Lincoln City Lanes. Talk about a sandy experience. I had my own shoes, but certainly didn't use them. Nor my bowling ball.
Dave Husted named his son Champ is funny.
My high school was pretty close to Gladstone Bowl, so we had 3 weeks of bowling in freshman PE. Dave Husted was friends with the PE teacher so he would show up and give us pointers.

ask your coworkers if they know who slypokerpuppy isYou probably went to Gladstone high with a couple coworkers of mine.
and Erik Wilhelm
If a bowling ball won't take you out then you've got to be the toughest guy I ever met. Christ almighty I will not tangle with you.I bowled there sometimes whenever I'm out there with my uncle who loves to bowl (I'm not much of a bowler). Got hit by a strayed ball from a lady once and ended up with a bloody mouth and a few loose teeth. All my years sparring and never been hit that hard.
You knew Erik Wilhelm? You and I are probably the only two guys in here who remember him.You probably went to Gladstone high with a couple coworkers of mine.

I was at OSU when he was our quarterback and a pretty good one at that.I do remember him. Not really as a football player. He was friends with the dad of one of my childhood friends.

Wow, the connections.I remember him, too. There was a bit of controversy as to how he landed at Lakeridge. Mutterings of foul play (a Lakeridge-rented apartment or such) bandied about.
IIRC, Wilhelm played one season with J.J. Birden at Lakeridge.

Yes!
Curt Allison?
Lanny, I grew up right off McVey Blvd.....a few blocks from Palisades Lanes. Do you remember that place? All us kids in the neighborhood started bowling there when we were around 11 or 12. I really enjoyed it. Ended up working there as a pin spotter when I was around 15. Got paid $2.50/hr plus free bowling. It was a pretty good gig for a young teen. I think I ended up averaging around 192. I think I was 18. Thought about becoming a pro around that time. That is, until an HBO-televised tournament came to town at the bowling alley. Man, I saw those guys and said forget it! *sigh*
You went to OSU in the mid 80's?
Avatar, or you've never happened!
ABM in his Hey Days at Kellog Bowl
Palisades, dude. Get it right. Oh, and it's Kellogg.
And who doesn't love Woody Harrelson?!
I once considered becoming a professional bowler. I've bowled at Kellogg many times. Mike's drive-in was da bomb!
Apparently you munsoned yourself.
