Roy's knees disintegrated into dust after five years. LaMarcus had literal and metaphorical heart troubles. On the whole, that's a bad draft.

Blazers got way better (33 win improvement in 3 years time) and came away with probably the two best players in that draft. On the whole, that was a great draft. Sucks about Roy's knees, but the dude was a stud.

We drafted 2 all-NBA players... it was the opposite of bad.
Roy was fool's gold, good only in that he set up the situation we are in now. Yay we got some fun memories with him, but we never got out of the first round and we lost him after five seasons... in retrospect it was a bad choice.

KP's draft plan was to take guys with injury flags a little lower than they would have gone because the upside was amazing.

I remember hearing scuttlebutt that it was the Roy contract negotiation that soured PA on KP, anyone remember something like this?

I think he goes hard after Lowry. If he doesn't have a shot, PG needs to be traded asap.

It's a shame FA happens after the draft.

Do you think there is any thought in the NBA front office to change this? Seems like its been a complaint for a couple years now, but I don't hear any media discussing it.

I don't have a link but I remember reading last summer that the NBA said they aren't considering this change anytime soon.

MAn it would be nice to hear their reasoning behind it, other than to completely fuck teams from actually having solid plans for the offseason.
