Kolde goes after Canzano

Where did I state that?

I think I am just reacting to MM's high horse opinionating - acting like the Blazer Brass are morons for not doing what he wants and announcing it before it is even possible.

In fact, I have stated without complete information - which none of us possesses at this time - a rational decision cannot be made, and I have mentioned it is possible that using the amnesty on Roy may be the smart move if he is in bad shape.

But they are morons if they don't do what I want

That actually has nothing to do with the validity of a position in a debate.

Well that is on top of the absurity of the claim (that Babbit was a steal). So, you have a stated opinion not supported by facts, sense or logic AND you have no one agreeing the absurd expressed opinion.

Is that better for you?

Ya. I was just playin a character.

I certainly don't think Babbitt was a steal. As for Roy, IMO there is absolutely no good reason to keep him because him, his doctors, the Blazers and anyone else in the know has said he will never be the same. If the goal is to win a championship, having his contract around your neck is not doing you any good. IMO. Can he be productive? Absolutely. Can he win you a few games? Absolutely. However, he will also lose you a few games because you just don't know which Roy you will get on any given night. And sadly, right now, this teams isn't very close to a title.

But in the real world, and not in character world on the internet, I respect the other opinions, and hope for the best.

But you are still are not making a case for delaying it one year. Cutting him now MAY NOT get you closer to a title. Waiting to use the Full MLE exception until next year (On say Freedland) MAY be a better option. It is totally debatable because you are paying him either way.

Do you not think that Roy's meniscii being completely removed isn't "complete information?"

“There’s no meniscus left to operate on in Roy’s left knee. ‘Nah. None. Not in my right, either,’ Roy said Friday. The reason Roy’s knee has been swelling up regularly, to the point where it has already been drained twice by Blazers‘ doctor Don Roberts this season, is because there is no cartilage to absorb the pounding associated with running and jumping. ‘The problem is bone-on-bone there,’ Roy said. ‘Dr. Roberts calls it ‘arthritic knee.’ It’s just something I’m going to have to deal with for the rest of my career.’”

...hey now, I'm the semantical one around this joint. :)

It's really too bad that we couldn't amnesty Roy and then have him re-sign with us for a reasonable cap amount. The issue isn't that he quit, got fat, sucks, etc. The issue is that his body betrayed him. It's no one's fault. Yet for the good of the team, we're going to have to separate ourselves from a great guy. What a shitty situation. Why couldn't these issues happen to a guy a like Ruben Patterson?

We got the raw end on Darius, as well. What a sucky situation that was.

It's not like Roy won't get every penny owed to him.

Very true. In fact, I think one of Bert's duties is cleaning the wax from Paul Allen's ears.
I wish that Kolde douche would stop using my moniker.

I believe Roy has done his best to give the franchise, the team, and the fans everything owed to them.

I'm certain Roy will get everything owed to him under his contract, to wit: unimaginable (for 99.9999% of the world's population) wealth, whether he plays or not.

I have serious doubts Roy can hold up after a month of NBA pounding.

It appears using amnesty on Brandon may put the Blazers in a position to improve the team, now and in the future.

Just do it.

Kolde is one shiesty bastard. I automatically side with JC on this.

No comparison. Kolde gives business advice and tries to do welli. Canzano is a liar who makes up invisible sources who are usually wrong.

Welli? Some dirtgy dispecable moderater is trying to make me look bad.

I don't care about him getting paid; that's going to happen regardless. I just think it's sad that to get out of his contract, we're going to have to let him go to another team.

I look at it this way. It's not like whatever team he goes to is going to keep us from a title, so who cares. He will be unable to play at an NBA level when we are ready to compete for anything as we are years away from doing so

If we let Oden walk to keep Roy Its gonna be hard to be as die hard a blazer fan as I have been. I would be really really disappointed.

That's a very good point. But I really doubt that will happen. At least not intentionally.

Why?

He can't dunk, he can't play defense, he can't participate in a fast break... Nine times out of ten he hurts us when he plays. I feel sorry for the team he might go to.

He still won game 4 for us against Dallas last year. Someone will pay him $5 - $7mil based upon that alone. I hear what you're saying, but he's certainly not a stiff....at least, not yet.
