Porzingis is not the route to go to drive up value lol
yeah...that's a descent, not a climb

They have the 3 pick, so merely “better” should be way down the list. We’d be better but it would still feel like a letdown.
Sounds about right to me. You got a guy that you hope doesn't pick up their option? Spread a rumor he's getting traded to Portland. That should solve the problem.Someone floating this to get Porzingis to opt out?
Nothing is getting that dude to give up 36M next season... nothing!Sounds about right to me. You got a guy that you hope doesn't pick up their option? Spread a rumor he's getting traded to Portland. That should solve the problem.
ME! I do, I say no!
Maybe we swing 8 to GS for Kuminga? Isn’t there talk of them trying to move up and offering him?If for some reason Porzingis opts in, which I find hard to believe.......It comes down to 3 things in my mind:
Do we like someone at 8 the same as #3? (Some fans seem to )
Are we better off with a 7'3" PF or with a good backup combo guard?
Can Porzingis stay healthy? (This one concerns me most)
Has anyone been in war room on draft day? I wanna know what happens during the five minute countdown before a pick. How many telephone lines are there? 5 minutes seem not enough to decide the future on a franchise.
Porzingis to Portland might be true, as a one year trial, but not for #3 pick.
Here's from an article I saw:
Washington Wizards Receive:
C Jusuf Nurkic,
F Nassir Little,
G/F Keon Johnson,
2025 First-Round Pick (Swap – POR)
Portland Trail Blazers Receive:
F/C Kristaps Porzingis
KP contract situation:
Player Option for 23-24
(deadline 6/21/23)
36M$
UFA next summer
Much better. Do you happen to remember where that article was or have a link?

that doesn't come close to working 'this' season, not nearly enough salary outgoing for Portland
next season?
Jusuf Nurkić $16,875,000
Nassir Little $6,250,000
Kevin Knox $3,000,000
Keon Johnson $2,808,720
28.934M...that would mean the trade credit factor is a simple +7.5M. and that gets outgoing salary + credit past KP's salary
honestly, if that's all that's going out it's an acceptable trade, IMO. But it's also not a trade you quickly agree to because KP has a similar injury history as Nurkic. But to even grant the Wizard swap rights it would cost Portland that 23rd pick in order for the Blazers to clear their Chicago encumbrance
I could be wrong but I think this rumor is about 95% bullshit

Nassir Little $6,250,000
Kevin Knox $3,000,000

nbaanalysis.net doesn't report rumors they just make up trades that make sense to them loosely tied to rumors they've seen reported. I've seen a ton of their "articles" and it's basically a trade idea post with a few paragraphs of explanation why it would work for both teams. A lot of times the sight will make up multiple trade scenarios for one player rumored to be on the move but they are always made up and never sourced, that I've seen.that doesn't come close to working 'this' season, not nearly enough salary outgoing for Portland

I haven't seen many trades from them that don't work from a salary matching standpoint or if they do put some names out there that don't quite match they'll mention players that could be thrown in to make it match. Also like I said they write entire pages for why the trade would make sense for both teams. All of that being said it is an article format of what people with trade ideas post in forums... nothing more.so, they are just like RealGM or S2. A bunch of honyocks chucking outfantasy trades without considering if the trade is legal, or if it actually makes sense for BOTH teams
I suppose if you combined rumors you could get to something like this:
* Portland trades: Simons to Orlando; Nurkic to Washington; #3 to Washington
* Portland receives: Porzingis, Delon Wright (TPE), Bol Bol + #6 + #11 (from Orlando) + 2027 first (top-10 protected from Washington) + 2028 1st (top-10 protected from Miami) + 2029 first (lottery protected from Washington)
* Orlando trades: Gary Harris to Wash.; Bol Bol to Portland; #6 to Portland; #11 to Portland
* Orlando receives: Simons from Portland; #8 from Washington + #18 from Miami
* Miami trades: Robinson + Lowry to Washington; #18 to Orlando; 2028 first to Portland
* Miami receives: Beal from Washington
* Washington trades Porzingis + Delon Wright to Portland; Beal to Miami; #8 to Orlando +2027 & 2029 first's to Portland
* Washington receives: Nurkic + Harris + Robinson + Lowry + #3 from Portland
essentially the Blazers trade #3 + Simons + Nurkic and receive Porzingis + Delon Wright + Bol Bol + #6 + #11 + 2027, 2028, 2029 first's. Sure, it's probably to Blazer homerific, but they do give up the 3rd pick and it's about time they are the screwer in a fantasy trade instead of the screweee

Seems like we'd be trading Dame at that point, which makes going after Porzingis odd.
