LA gone before or on draft day

I agree with you...? But if you trade LMA, you aren't beholden to a jump-shooting PF and needing a DeAndre Jordan type as center b/c your PF doesn't want to play down low or rebound. You can have a garbageman PF. Or a low-post PF. Or a stretch PF and a low-post center. Or...

Or, if you keep LMA and have him signed long-term, you have plenty of time to find a center that fits with him that you don't have to overpay with your precious few assets for.

LMA 9 rebounds last year...its not his strong suit bit its not like he is bargnani or something...

Word is, Aldridge wants to escape from Portland's rebuilding project and has made it known that he'd like to land in Chicago.

Deng for Aldridge won't get it done. The Blazers want Joakim Noah in return and the Bulls don't want to give up the superior defensive big man.

Here's one way to get Portland's attention: Offer Deng and Charlotte's future No. 1 pick. The Bulls are counting on that Bobcats' pick (acquired for Thomas, ironically), to pay off big, because it's unprotected in 2016.

If Charlotte improves during the next two years, though, that pick could end up in the teens. So cashing it in for a 27-year-old all-star has plenty of merit. Aldridge averaged 21.1 points and 9.1 rebounds last season, and could play next to Noah.

lol @ the idea that Deng + pick could land them Aldridge.

What is this nonsense that LA wants out? Has any PDX source mentioned anything of the sort?

It's as if these fools don't even think when they conjure up these trade ideas.

Well it's about the same as Cansuckoff making up shit to support his story. This is a Chicago paper; so they would rather buzz that Aldridge wants out.

Where are to two Blazers experts at Dwight Jaynes & Chris Haynes? Anyone got any news from them yet?

I would do Freeland + LA + Kostas for Noah + #20 + Cha pick.

Swing those picks with 10 to move up for Oladipo. Then sign Big Al to our remaining capspace.

Roll with Dame/Vic/Nic/Al/Noah

That's a sick team.

Noah isn't enough.

0% the Blazers would show interest in Deng.

Taj is a backup.

There really isn't a combo that I can put together that would make sense form Portland.

Although Mirotic and the CHA pick are intriguing.

I don't care who we get for him. Trading LaMarcus now is a TERRIBLE idea. This team was two slightly-above-average bench players from making the playoffs last season. LA has made drastic improvement in one particular area of his game during each and every off-season since he graduated high school, and there's absolutely no reason to believe he won't do it again this off-season. Put a rim protector next to him, get someone good enough to push Wes to the bench, and fill the rest of the roster with young, hungry, and smart gym rats. If it doesn't make us solid contenders for the playoffs by the trade deadline, then look at trading him. But now? You might as well trade Lillard, too, because he won't be happy sucking hind tit next year.

It's a great idea. He doesn't want to be in a rebuilding situation and that's exactly where the Blazers are headed. The severe lack of talent, no FA available/willing will help that.

What doesn't make sense is what the Bulls have to offer.

Yet if LaMarcus is quietly asking to be moved, the team is better off moving him as soon as they get an excellent offer.

Lillard may or may not be happy if LaMarcus is traded, but regardless, he isn't going anywhere for years and can't do anything about it.

And I question the idea that he would be nothing but angry, young players seem to love it when they have a green light to take all the shots they want and get the chance to "establish" their All-Star credentials. It is all about timing and career location. Lillard and LaMarcus are in two different spots in their careers and see things differently.

Dwight is talking about the Ducks at a time like this? What kind of an expert is that?:MARIS61:

What? Why would Dwight talk about something he knows nothing about (despite the fact that's what he's done his entire career)?

I'm going to assume he has no real connections anymore (Kahn was fired), so he is choosing to talk about a story that he has some information about. If he talks about the draft, he just makes himself look uninformed.

Considering how seemingly every narcissist and pro basketball player in America lives on twitter, does anyone think it's strange or telling that LaMarcus hasn't tweeted in response to all these trade rumors attached to his name? You know, to put his teammates' and fans' minds at ease? At least deny he's asked for a trade or wants out of Portland?

Hmmm?? :devilwink:

One guy I would really want from Bulls is Jimmy Butler.

Noah/Butler/1st works for me. Make a run at a guy like Al Jefferson and were a better team than last year.

Chicago may in fact want LaMarcus, but what would be the point for them to trade away Noah in the process? Does not compute for me, and they don't have enough to offer otherwise. Next, please.

I just really struggle to see the Bulls moving Noah for Aldridge. Not to argue better or worse. But then what's the strategy? Play like Miami, with LMA at C? He's already whined about that. They'd be paying him, Boozer and Gibson a LOT of money.
I love Noah, personally. Have since that draft, and nothing has changed. Love the way he plays. I just struggle to see a deal there.

Anything with the Bulls HAVE to start with Mirotic and the CHA pick.

As far as players, they don't have much to choose from.

Butler? A welcome addition to the bench.

And.....

....

....

....

There's a lot of meh on that roster.

Sam Amico, who is pretty darn reliable (‏@SamAmicoFSO) just tweeted:

Said repeatedly Blazers won't move LaMarcus Aldridge. I was wrong. Told tonight they'd be willing, but want 2 first-rounders and player(s).

Noah and Butler works for me.

A guy like Noah instantly makes us one of the better defensive teams.
