IMHO Zach's best position is at center. He's passable with minutes at the four, but he's clearly more effective as a center.

Hot take: Nurk has to go, but when do you make this move?

Nurk has played very well this year. It would be stupid to get rid of him.

Collins is playing incredibly poor right now. He played the 5 in the first half tonight and didn't do squat. It's not about him being a 4 or a 5, he just needs to be better. How anyone can say we need to get rid of another better big man for Zach to play more right now is completely asinine.

It's something worth considering. Nurk is decent on defense, terrible on offense -- his career OBPM is -2.5, to be more precise: -3.7, -4.1, -2.3, -2.6

This season is obviously TBD.

Just stfu with this +/- nonsense.
Zach is not ready to start, and regardless of what this forum is doing with the meltdown. Portland is not going to 'tank' this season.

Fairweather fans smh.

This was a game that showed weaknesses of Zach and should have resulted in substituting Meyers as center by the end of the first quarter. Zach grabbed some rebounds, showed defense some of the time, and got a steal, but was not helpful with bench scoring (0 points in 18 min). We should be looking for at least 34 points from the center position, and could have added more to the 22 that Nurk had in 28 min if we had played Meyers (8 points in 13 min all from close shots) and called on his swish3 power.

The most disappointing to me was the failure to call the time out, put Meyers in, and change to the multi-pass, draw the defense away from Dame and CJ, multiple screen offense that has been effective earlier this year. The energy level of the defense needed to increase to stop the Warriors run before it got beyond a 12 point deficit, and coaching should have been ready to make changes. This was an extraordinary game for Durant and Klay and Cook because of defensive lapses that needed substitution.

We did not get effective defense and only 1 point from Mo, who does not appear to be ready for action, and Evan was disappointing. For future games, I look to the coaches to be more open to making changes based on moving quickly to alternative lineups to stop runs of points like we saw in this game. We should have answered the 2nd quarter Warrior swish3 run with Blazer swish3 runs to provide the additional 12+ points that were missing early in that quarter, and we have the scoring power to do it. Let's give Nurk help by alternating Meyers with him to add scoring power and energy especially when Zach is having an off game.

ARE YOU NUTS! Nurk is developing, looks good, and is young. Zach is a PF . His upside is maybe, a LaMarcus Aldridge, but it better kick in soon.

What is up with the thought police. I get it that people are frustrated and you may not be, or may not like their ideas while frustrated. Just saying SHUT UP and GET OUT to every idea you don't like seems a little odd considering your on a forum to discuss basketball. HC is a really good poster most of the time, and has good basketball takes but the idea that people posting things you don't like is just a fair weather fan, that they should shut up seems a little out of whack.

I get the forum has been on a roller coaster ride (same as the team), but if someone's here actually talking about the Blazers bringing up their ideas why should they just shut up?

I haven't seen a single person say the Blazer WILL tank, or WILL make a trade, or WILL fire Stotts, or WILL fire Neil, I just see fans bringing up ideas that they think might make the team better. Why is that a problem? Why is it met with this well that won't happen so shut up and quit talking about it. A lot of the fun of sports for many people is talking about their silly ideas to make it better. If you think it's a bad idea, why not just say well I think it's a bad idea and here's why. Or if it's so bad it's giving you a migraine you could just not respond.

Heck I mentioned in another thread I wouldn't know how I'd feel about them tanking, I wasn't proposing they do it. I was met with a it won't happen so people shouldn't talk about it response. I don't really get why people on a discussion forum for the Blazers can't discuss their ideas related to the Blazers without being met by oh you're all just in a meltdown cause they lost, your just a fair weather fan.

Also I apologize to HC because this isn't just about him, I've seen it from various posters in about 4-5 other threads, most of them not responses to me. After the Warriors game I took a bit of a break because I was frustrated and didn't want to just type nonsense, which I'm prone to do while frustrated.

Hot take: stop with the hot takes. Nurk is not the problem. Zach is not ready yet. Both get into foul trouble, so use both.

If we're going to trade one, Zach is probably the more valuable trade chip - if he got us back a star as part of a bundle then he's the one who should go.

I know your comment was a general forum thing, but when a poster uses a stat to prove their point without taking into account the person they are propping up is also horrible in that same stat then I think they deserve to be called out on it.

As for the tanking thing it is a discussion worth having sometimes as to the best path for contention but I think the manner in which it's brought up with a team battling for a high playoff seed like the team could just bench Dame is a little ridiculous.

Speaking of police... lol.

For real though, this is nothing right now. I know your newer to the forum than post, but you really shouldn't think it's bad in here right now. Trust me.

As far as tanking its annoying how a 2-4 road trip turns people into the type that say "It'd be better for us if we got a top draft pick!" "Purgotory!" Etc.

No shit, adding Zion would be better. But these same people are saying it because they're frustrated with the team losing. I hope you see the irony in that. It's also a horrible idea in practice terms. So do I get annoyed when people suggest impractical options, with some.of those suggestions whining about everything to do with the organization? Yeah.

Yeah but no one is telling you to shut up and get out. I understand that, that language isnt usually meant “literally”.

I understand but it seems like bad form to run around and tell people who present ideas you (general you) dont like to just shut up and leave.

I dont think its bad in here, I just think people are frustrated at how poorly the Blazers are playing. Sure some ideas are better than others, and some ideas are silly, who here hasnt had a bad idea???

Also almost all the posters Ive seen say some of those things, are people who were saying that most of the summer and the road trip has just been a good vehicle for piling on. In terms of tanking, its November the Blazers certainly have looked very, Blazer-like(?) as of late but its November...

My only real frustration is that I think there is no shot, they let go of Stotts.

I think we can call someone out without insulting them or their opinions. Here are some of the words used to describe the OP or his opinions: stupid, asinine, LOL, nonsense, STFU, fair weather fan, nuts. Would it really be so hard to disagree with someone without insulting them or their opinions? I understand that there is a lot of incivility in our society today, but couldn't we be better here?

Bro, why are you insinuating that I said that? Seriously? You're also taking that too literally.

I hope you understand the difference in suggesting trades and suggesting we tank now.

Im not insinuating you said that, Im insinuating that was said in this thread. To the OP, read the responses the OP got... It was basically, shut up, its stupid, etc...

Wait, so "lol" is an insult now? Lol.

Nobody insulted anyone personally either. People thought his self-labeled "hot-take" was bad and let him know. You're seriously bothered by "Are you nuts?", "lol", and "nonsense"? Some of the others, I guess, but it's not that serious.

You phrased it in an insinuating context. Anyone who doesn't know what's going on and read your reply to me would think that I said that.

Its really not serious, I just never saw a single person explain their opinion on why the hot take (which I thought was bad too) was so bad. Which is why I responded the way I did...

Thanks for your serious and thoughtful consideration of my thoughts, not.

I didnt mean it that way, and I dont really see it, but I apologize if it came across that way.

Nonsense. Collins hasn’t even been that good lately and he’s not ready to be our starting center.

And yes, to say in effect, to another person, your opinion is so ridiculous that I laughed out loud, is rude and unnecessary. I guess our society is so used to being rude to each other that we don't even notice it.

Thanks for your serious and thoughtful consideration of my thoughts, not.
Lol. Oh sorry. Lmao. Oh crap. Haha. :dammit: :biglaugh::curse::smiley-lol_hitting::comppunch:

I responded directly to you. How much should I contemplate what you say? I simply don't have the same viewpoint.

See, I get how you could think this, but I think it's a little dramatic (sorry...?), and not personal. Thinking annother opinion is funny isn't any of that.
