Lamarcus Aldridge Announces Charity game in Portland

I was on Twitter yesterday and Alderidge was recruiting players to play here in Portland. Not many details out there except what you can determine from him playing in KD's game and recruiting some of those players on twitter. Also Jamall Crawford is doing a Seattle game.

Will the game be in the Memorial? or the Convention center? Do we have any other big arenas? Its too cold for a outdoor game.

I wonder how temporary a nonprofit organization can be to qualify for the players to write off their donated travel expenses. Game proceeds would have to fund some good cause. To get around the temporal nature, maybe the union could form a separate organization to coordinate these charity games to optimize tax consequences.

Wonder how Brandon would feel about that. Friendly with fellow Seattlian, but got to think he'd be his replacement.
This would also depend on the size of the mid-level. And given that we have a boatload of shoot-first combo guards and are very thin in the frontcourt, it doesn't seem all that wise. Can't we see what Elliot Williams can do first?

He's between contracts. He'd be moderately helpful, but would have to take a 50% pay cut from last season's $10M. Rudy and Elliot Williams are a lot cheaper.

I'll be shocked if this game actually takes place on 11/6 at the Chiles Center.

I love me some LMA, but what's the point of this game? He and other players could donate more money to charity than they can raise by filling the Chiles Center for what I would guess would be $15/ticket, and that doesn't even include expenses incurred by the players for the venue.
