Lamarcus Aldridge probably WILL NOT sign extension with Portland.

People on this contract usually don't. 3 year vs. 5 year.

I still thought the article was actually decent and pointed out some stuff. Like how it's feasible he COULD since he'll be 29 and may regress... it was a good neutral article.

Yeah, I don't think many expect him to sign an extension. Most presume that the most likely outcome is that he'll re-sign after the expiration of his existing contract in 2015.

If we can't get to the finals by the end of his contract I wouldn't be surprised if he did leave.

He'd be stupid to sign an extension this summer. This is his one shot at a max contract.

5>3

The money difference is huge between a 3 year deal(55m) 5 year max (127m). I never thought he would sign an extension this summer since he has 1 max, or near max, contract left and he should get the money while he can. The big question is do we offer him a 5 year contract at max or near max money or a 4 year max. I doubt LA leaves but there is a possibility that if we regress or he just gets tired it here he could take an offer from a big market like LA/NY. I really doubt he leaves the Blazers for another team unless we completely implode but its one of those "you never know" things.

If he leaves, he leaves. Nothing we can do about it, get to it when we get there.

Trade him right now for draft picks and an average PF. The Blazers could maybe win the lottery and draft a franchise-changing center.

If he thinks about leaving Paul Allen should bail out Aaron Hernandez. That should be enough to scare him into re-signing.

I bet we could get that greek guy from the Rockets for him.

You should know better than anyone, you can't force someone to stay.
