As much as I am not on the NeO hate train as some I will admit NeO seems to have a weakness for trying to revive careers of busts see Mo Harkless , Giles and I am sure I am missing a couple others but you get the point. As much as the reward for doing so can be high sometimes you can miss out on something better or more stable and very possible the Blazers have cause of this weakness but again I could be wrong.

I think Aminu qualifies. Maybe even Plumlee and Turner were borderline busts/scrubs when they got to Portland.

you could easily include him too.
It's another damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. If he dumpster dives for past high potential players to see if you can catch a breakthrough, it's dumb. If he wastes a roster spot on aging vets like McLemore, Tolliver, etc., he's dumb.

Could have saved a lot of time by just stating the fact: he's dumb.

The data suggests there is no Norm problem. (All from the NBA.com official 5 units stats).

2017-2018 lineup of Dame, CJ, Harkless, Aminu, Nurkic had a Defensive Rating of 103.1 (off 111.7, net 8.5)
2018-2019 lineup of Dame, CJ, Harkless, Aminu, Nurkic had a Defensive Rating of 108.0 (off 117.2, net 9.2)
2020-2021 lineup of Dame, CJ, Powell, Roco, Nurkic had a Defensive Rating of 104.8 (off 118.1, net 13.4)
And that unit was even better in the playoffs

Yes. Just said this. I think he can have a Jermaine O'neal type jump. Now that Stotts isn't hampering his time and DJJ has been moved.
Jermaine was made the number one option when he went to Indy. Little won’t be a top 4 option this year so he can’t make that kind of jump.

I like Nance’s excitement about coming to the Blazers:

This trade was absolutely a collaboration. I had expressed my desire to win now to Koby and the front office if we could find a deal that helped everyone, and they certainly did that. Going to Portland is something that I am extremely excited about. This is a team that has seen the biggest stages and is hungry for more, and I’m thrilled that they believe I can help them climb higher. This opportunity is one that I’m very ready to take advantage of and I have the Cavs to thank for preparing me for it.”

That's a classy way to leave a team. Very impressive.

I think it's a very solid addition, both for opening night and down the road. Lots of people have addressed opening night, so I'll focus on down the road.

Nance better positions us for trading CJ at some point if the Siakam or Simmons become available at a reasonable price. Those guys are obviously not available right now for what we wanted to offer, or I really think one of them would already be here. But things can change for both us and Philly and Toronto.

What if CJ has a career year this season? If he's playing like he did at the beginning of last year, a straight up deal looks a lot more fair. Powel will slide to the SG slot, and we'll need a guy to play more minutes at SF. That's Nance.

What if CJ is mediocre but the Siakam or Simmons situation blows up and they start looking at us again? If Nance is doing really well for us, well, Covington looks a lot more expendable because these guys have a lot of overlapping skills.

I've wanted CJ gone for years, and TBH I'm a little disappointed it can't happen this summer. But I'm holding on to hope that Nance is part of a larger move.

Idk....losing the pick to trade with CJ hurts our chances of trading CJ for a Siakam or Simmons.

I think with Nance here RoCo could be included in a trade of CJ and RoCo for Ben. I don't see the Sixers getting pieces that fit them better than that, with that much talent and if it came down to it and we wanted to include a future first we could just have the protection taken off of the Cavs pick.

biggest concern for me about Nance and Zeller additions are injuries/games played, both guys have missed a good bit of time over their careers. Fit wise I think they are excellent, lets hope they can stay healthy

You have a Leonard Jersey? Take it to a seamstress and have the name removed.

seriously? Can that be done? Who is the best 11 eleven Blazer? Can i have that name sewn in instead? Wont it leave stitching marks making it look cheesy?
