I thought Ted would be funnier, too, but I've watched so much McFarlane that the shock value has disappeared.

Still, it was pretty funny in some spots, and it was much better than anything Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell have put out in the last 5 years.

I have never seen Family Guy and fucking loved Ted! Couldn't stop laughing.

Watched "Trouble With the Curve" last night. Good movie. Not great, but good.

Silver Linings Playbook

Kinda of a chick flick but really good. 8.7/10

John's dead at the end

that door can not be open! :)

StrawDogs..... very entertaining. Deliverance like.

Just finished Moonrise Kingdom ... I'm not a big Wes Anderson fan but it was very good. I liked that the big names played bit parts, while the two kids and the troop stole the show. 8/10

Saw a few over my vacation too ... This is 40 was awful, just 130 minutes of people yelling obscenities at each other and there was only one really likeable character out of the whole movie. 5/10

Django was pretty freaking good, but it doesn't beat out IB, RD's or PF on my list of favorite QT films. 8.5/10

Django was good actually. Love that 70s Spaghetti Western vibe.

I know Zero Dark Thirty has already been mentioned. I watched it on Saturday. It was riveting. I highly recommend it. I do question its historical accuracy. After researching certain aspects of the moving, it seems that there is a lot of artistic license taken, but it still is a very good flick

Finally watched Ted last night. Funny movie. It's not like The Hangover, Old School, etc that I will watch over and over. But funny nonetheless.

And Mila Kunis ain't hard on the eyes. The movie needed more of that.

I thought this movie sucked

Ponyo by Studio Ghibli. None of that Disney BS neither, son. All hand drawn like a motherfuckin' boss.

Haha - Ponyo is crazy. My daughter loves that movie.

I need to watch that while on another level one of these days. So bizarre to me.

Ponyo was a lot better than I thought it'd be. Not sure why I was doubting though since everything from Ghibli is amazing. They were showing Princess Mononoke at a theatre down here the other day, but I couldn't make it. One year my wife wants to go as her for Halloween and take our dog as the wolf (my avatar is our dog).

If anyone likes horror movies; "ghost encounters" 1 and 2 were pretty scary. Both start a little slow, but when shit hits the fan, it really hits the fan!

I was a little disappointed with Django actually. I liked it fine, but I wanted to love the shit out of it. To me it was just a Tarantino movie with some Spaghetti western nods thrown in. I guess I'm really more of a Sergio Leone/Enio Morricone fan than a fan of Spaghetti westerns as a genre. It's my fault, I think I built it up too much.

Has anyone seen the original Django movie, btw?

Another level is recommended. and Japanese with subs, since the voices Disney picked out do not match the characters whatsoever. It just sounds bad.

But also watch everything else Miyazaki did: Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle and Totoro. For gods sake, WATCH TOTORO.

What, you don't like listening to Cristian Bale in Howl's Moving Castle? Or Dakota Fanning in Totoro? And yes, everyone should at least watch Totoro!

I borrowed it from a friend and plan on watching it this weekend. I've resisted watching it for so long because of the talking teddy bear thing. Doesnt seem like something I'd like but I keep hearing how funny it is. It's the "unrated" version, so hopefully there are some extra boob shots in it. :devilwink:

There are a few things in there that make it clear why it's the unrated version. I'll keep it at that.

Yeah, we have most of these on DVD. My wife is part-Japanese, and her mom seems to think we need everything that can somehow be connected to the Japanese. And she's a big movie person (one of those people that buys EVERY movie). So needless to say, she's purchased a lot of these. I have to say, the stories are very intriguing, well-written, intelligent, etc. An adult can enjoy these, as well as children (there's been a few scenes that perhaps are not the best for young children).

I don't care what anybody says......... that movie had me CRACKING UP!
