True, but how many trade scenarios right now, will make us legitimate contenders? Two or three?
And if neither of those is desired by the other team, then an argument for waiting can legitimately be made.
I realize we desperately need a PF, but as painful as it might be, waiting might have to be considered.
And for all of you who think that trading Dame's best friend on the team is what is going to make him happy,
my guess is that is only going to happen if the returning asset is really really good.
He legit said "the team isn't good enough". Dame is smart.
If we wanna get technical, he also said a new coach might change the trajectory of the team and specifically mentioned examples of other teams that made a jump after they hired someone else. I’m not sure there’s a mandate for a new roster/trade. I don’t think Dame cares how they get better, as long as they get better. You really think he wouldn’t wanna win with CJ in an ideal world?
If CJ was a better fit, yeah. But we have norm. A much much better fit.
Cj needs to go.
If we wanna get technical he followed that up by saying that he doesn't see this roster as being one that could contend even if Chauncey is the greatest coach ever. So, I think he either had a change of heart after talking with Chauncey and Neil or he's just giving it time before Neil either makes a move or he asks out. Multiple reports said he wants to give Chauncey a shot and other reports said that he wouldn't ask to be dealt until he saw what the team could do. Those reports speculated that means that if the first couple of months don't go well and there hasn't been an upgrade to the roster... that he'll ask to be traded by the deadline. If we wanna get technical, he also said a new coach might change the trajectory of the team and specifically mentioned examples of other teams that made a jump after they hired someone else. I don't disagree that resigning Norm has made CJ expendable. We need an upgrade at PF.
My point was that fans were suggesting that Dame was going to be pissed when he got back from Tokyo if no major move was made.
Which in a roundabout way meant that Dame was going to be pissed if CJ was still on the team. I don't doubt that Dame and CJ have discussed the possibility, but thinking that Dame would be furious that it has not been done........ is a little ridiculous.
lol what are earth are their mom's going to do?When Dame said we're not good enough people forget that he's including himself in that statement...he says it every off season and works on his game...he was really trying on defense in the Olympic games...CJ and Dame's mom's are also best friends they bought houses for in Portland...I get the impression both their mom's will have a say in splitting them up as well.
I've heard Dame and CJ talk about their moms....forget their agents...their mom's are alpha's! I'm a guy who loves people who invest in the city and culture and we have two guys who really do that...for what I think are the right reasons. Mutual respect. I honestly think they'll both be career Blazers..both Dame and CJ have laughed their way through this trade rumor mill together. I am interested to see how Chauncey will up their gameslol what are earth are their mom's going to do?
That's all fine and good, and I love both Dame and CJ too. I just don't think their mom's have any say if either of them are getting traded.I've heard Dame and CJ talk about their moms....forget their agents...their mom's are alpha's! Im assuming Chauncey will have real influence on the both of them if one or both are still here. He said during one interview I heard, its starts with those two in adopting an aggressive defensive strategy.I've heard Dame and CJ talk about their moms....forget their agents...their mom's are alpha's!
