Letter from LaMarcus Aldridge to Rip City

I was an Aldridge superfan and I'm already over it. He made that very easy for me to do so

I feel the same way today Mags.

Employee #12 earned all of his salary and all of the support and cheers the fans gave him. But he doesn't want to be here, his legacy here doesn't matter to him and that's fine. It truly was CTC with him which is cool too. I don't think I'd even boo him if he came to the Rose Garden... He's just another really good player from the past. He never understood what Rip City is about and neither does Canzano or this new poster the "NBA fan".

But its why Nic, Rolo, and Wessy Wes will get a ton of Blazer fan love when they come back and employee #12 will not. He doesn't care about us and he doesn't deserve anything more from us. It was a fair trade Mr. Aldridge and thank you for your time.

Here in Rip City we know its special here. Dame sees it, he understands and is ready to go! We are blessed to have him.

The league is going to love this scrappy little team if they make any noise at all. And if the worst possible thing happens we get a protected lottery pick on the next draft and plenty of money to spend on a player who wants be here.

Nice post, Spud. Except I plan on booing him long and loud for the way he hung the Blazers out to dry for no good purpose.

I was sitting here thinking about the fact that I've only owned 1 NBA jersey in my life. I've been a fan since the 70s (before they won the championship) so I had an opportunity to buy many great Blazer player's jerseys over the years... And I finally picked #12's. :dammit: But it doesn't mean anything to me now but a waste of $110 of hard earned money.

So, since we all know Blazer fans really are pretty classy knowledgeable folks, we're probably not going to see a lot of jersey burnings. After all Rip City always appreciates hard work and we definetly got that from #12. But that's now part of the past.

I think it would be so cool and cathartic if the Blazers let me/us trade slightly used #12 jerseys for a $5 or $10 discount on Dame's. Here's to our future Rip City, let's go!

I'm still burning my jersey. Its not so much out of anger and rage but the fact that the jersey combination of Aldridge on the Blazers doesn't exist to me. OK, I lied, its out of anger and rage. LaMarcus Aldridge is my single most hated NBA player. Over Kobe Bryant, over Kevin Durant, over anyone. I never thought it was possible, but I'd cheer for the fucking Lakers before I cheer for Aldridge again.

I still have the Aldridge Adidas caricature shirt too, not sure what I'll do with that one

I used to have an 80s Larry Bird shirt I defaced way back in the day that I now regret b/c it'd be worth lots of money now. We'll see what happens with that, chances are I draw on it with some sharpies.

I'm considering flying to Portland for his first game back just to boo and heckle him. Little bitch will probably be "injured" for that game and not with the team though.

A simple script. We will forget it in a week and when the season actually starts we can officially bash him when he arrives. If I was there I would throw monopoly money at the his feet.

+> Not even a well crafted letter can change your view??

Employee #12! Love you, Spud.

However, your one Blazer jersey is a lot better than mine. After Bonzi Wells got into it at GSW, I wanted to piss off the locals so I got a bright red Wells jersey.

It has become my summer nightgown, although way too big.
Hmm, could that be why I sometimes have nightmares?

Kinda odd I keep seeing SA beat writers talking about LA at the five for long stretches. He's going to take his game closer to the basket..... All these things LA supposedly couldn't or wouldn't do, he's now willing and able to do in SA? If that doesn't say how badly he really wanted out of PDX....
I'm sure it's kind of odd for the Jazz fans hear us say that Kanter is going to learn defense :)

Not exactly the same, but I get it.... it's part of selling yourself. But LA has always been against playing center. We had to go find him a center to appease him, when it would have been much easier to find a PF and move LA to C.

But LA will be playing some C, which he has refused to do, and turned down big cash. Enes never said he was going to learn to play D, though. That's just fans giving him the benefit of the doubt.

If we do get Kanter and LMA is guarding him, I hope to throw it down into the post repeatedly.

LOL. True dat. But I think it probably works that way for LA, too.
Best way to defend LMA: foul him HARD on his first two possessions in the post. I think Enes - or anyone - can do that.

There's some comfort in knowing the coaching staff is prepared to game plan for Lamarcus

So he lost sleep over possibly having to have a different uniform number, but didn't lose any sleep after telling the Blazers he was leaving.

Sounds about right.
