The Dems are looking to flip a lot of seats in 2026 elections..that will be when they can impeach him. The GOP is losing political currency by the day...his economic blunders will seal his fate.

Mike Johnson is blocking resolution to end Trump proclaimed economic emergency that allowed him to unilaterally impose tariffs and you want impeachment? The men in Congress with a few exceptions like Jamie Raskin don't have the ovaries to stand up to Trump.

If he gets impeached he will not go quietly. Trump and his base will rain hell down.
 
Trump claiming tariffs because of fentanyl coming across border. So Madagascar (where vanilla is grown, bakers are so screwed) and Lesotho get hit with tariffs.

He knows when he's going to raise and lower tariffs. All he has to do is buy or sell stocks based on whatever he's going to do.

And it's perfectly legal.

Not only that, but he can tell other people and they can give him kickbacks. That is less legal, but probably more profitable.

He's one of the most honest dishonest politicians. He's keeping every promise he made to his donors. Everything he said to people who didn't give him money was a lie. It has been so plain and so complete, it's... I don't want to say comforting, because he's killing people, but... predictable. He's a fucking demon you can set your watch to. No nuance, no loopholes, just straight up, old school evil.
 
Rachel Maddow described the origins, or "oranges" as Trump would say, of the tariffs that crashed the economy.

When running for the first time, Trump tasked Jared Kushner, not an economist, with finding an economic advisor. Someone who would make him look "tough". Kushner went to Amazon books and scanned titles. There was a book called Death by China by Peter Navarro and Kushner thought title was cool so he bought the book. In it, Navarro argued for steep tariffs on China and trading partners as magic key to prosperity. He repeatedly cited the noted economist Ron Vara, the world renowned economist Ron Vara, the award winning economist Ron Vara as the inspiration for his argument. Ron Vara is cited in all or nearly all of Navarro's books as the noted economist blah blah. And Vara issued email saying Trump could ride tariffs to prosperity. The argument appealed to Trump who dislikes everything "foreign" except wives.

One thing Navarro does not do is cite and specific books or articles published by Mr. Vara.

Because Ron Vara doesn't exist.

The name is an anagram of Navarro and Peter Navarro invented him to give gravitas to his views. His views are so far outside the mainstream of even conservative economic thought so he needed a source. He invented one.

The US economy crashed and world economy upended by Trump accepting the views of a nonexistent person. No one bothered to even find the guy and see if he was real.
