<div class="quote_poster">Karma Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The only conflict I have in terms of career is the fact that all of my teachers have always told me (like EVERY single one of my teachers) that I'm an exceptional writer. However, I'm not sure how far I can get with my writing. I mean, there's literally a million writers out there, and I really don't want to take up journalism for a living.</div>
You and me both, bro'. I think most people on this board have writing ambitions. Hell, we all write about sports on JBB on a regular basis, so why not get free tickets, press passes, and money for it? Thats the common mindset of most guys who are into sports which makes the market really saturated, and the pay, even for some of the best in the profession, isn't half of what a doctor or lawyer would make.
Personally, I decided that it was a dead-end career when I decided to attend Michigan and get an MBA from Ross, but now that I've got the option of going to Medill (top journalism school in the nation @ Northwestern), I'm really rethinking my life and my possible career paths. Basically though, no matter how money other professions may bring to me, I enjoy writing the most, and I ultimately want to have a happy, fulfilling life and career, not one that makes me dread going back to work every Sunday.
