Lillard is Portland's best player

Lillard is absolutely our best player. And Batum is 4th or 5th by the way. Could've gotten someone else much cheaper for that.

Best in what way? In terms of talent, I think Aldridge the most talented player on the team. In terms of confidence, I think Lillard is way ahead of him.

If Darren Williams is DWill.......... can Damian Lillard be DLill?

In terms of on-court productivity. In terms of being irreplaceable. Confidence (like you say), leadership, steadiness, imagination, being the guy the other team needs to identify first and foremost in their scouting report.

In terms of pure talent? I'm not sure. It's an apples and oranges thing when comparing a PG to a PF.

Ugh. You ought to ask him how he feels about the nickname "The Omen." Tell him it's a play on his jersey number as well as his first name.

Let's wait until he starts playing defense.

Remember: it's much easier to look good as a guard because you've got the ball in your hands. Aldridge has to rely on others to get him the ball. And he can't freelance.

BUT: Lillard is for sure the biggest reason to watch a Blazers' game.

How about we wait until Lillard makes and All-Star team or an All-NBA team before we start anointing him the franchise player?

I'm not sure what the deal is with a few posters here, but it's like they have LMA Tourette's.

It's LMA's team ... period.

No way. Too streaky.

yes way. All Star & All NBA selection... dude is a stud

You might make an argument for him being the equal of Love. But it's an argument only homers like me would listen to.

or those fans who recognize that Love is pathetic at D. He truly sucks at it. Regardless of rooting interest, lots of fans recognize that limiting points in the paint = winning basketball

He said his "rapper" name is D-Blaze.

He's playing defense. It's not for a lack of effort. It's just obvious that he has no idea how to defend someone like Westbrook.... but that's okay because most of the league can't defend him either.

Browsing Twitter, some are calling him "the black Steve Nash."

Lillard is the first blazer to score 20 or more in his first three games since Geoff Petrie.

forget that guy....what did Waiters do tonight?!?

Looks like Waiters played OK ... 28 minutes, 13 points, 3 dimes, 5-12 shooting. Nothing to be ashamed about.

I'm glad we didn't give a big contract to Jeremy Lin! I wonder of Houston is having buyers regret on him yet, he's looked pretty average. Lillard is going to be the leader of our team, like Brandon Roy was.

he almost had a triple double yesterday?

Agreed.

Lin has been hurt all summer. Pretty early to close the book on him (unless the knee is a chronic issue).

I think he does. I just don't think he knows how to defend a guy like Westbrook.

I didn't mean to say he was unwilling, just that I don't think he knows how to play effective defense ... yet.

No shame in that.

Eh, to me it's still Aldridge, since Lillard needs to keep on proving himself. Im sure he can and in time, I think it well get to the point where Lillard is our best player and having Aldridge as a second banana isn't a bad thing.

This.

It's only been 3 games. More importantly, Lillard has the potential to be one of the league's best players, while LMA is proven and is not. I mean, he's like a cut below the Kobe/LeBron/Wade/Duncan/Durant type stars.

Well, see, my point was that I don't think Nash tries very hard. I think Lillard is trying, I just don't think he has the experience yet.
