Of course he is second and not first. Fucking bull shit small market bias. If he were a Knick or a Laker he would probably be ROY already

It's because Anthony Davis has it easy in the Big Easy, huh?

Because New Orleans (Davis) and Charlotte (MKG) are larger than Portland? Charlotte is about the same size, and New Orleans is half of what Portland is. Maybe you're just being funny...? <shrug>

Portland has had a ROY - I don't buy your arguement.

I think Lillard has a great shot at winning ROY. He'll get lots of playing time and we will need him to put up big #'s. I'll bet he leads all rookies in scoring and assists.

I don't know about scoring, but the same could be said for Davis.

MKG is the dark horse in this race for ROY. I think he'll really flourish in the NBA.

Name one Rookie that will average more than 16 pts Per. Name one that will average more than 6 ast per. IMHO that person will be Lillard.

Davis will have to get the ball out of Rivers and Gordon's hands. That team looks like crap on paper. Can Rivers make an entry pass? And if he can, what will Davis do with it once he gets it?

Get pushed out of position?

When you say Charlotte is the same size, you are talking about on some list right? If you've ever been there, P-Town is twice the size as Charlotte.

I am just not sold on Davis, sorry. I have said before, he will putt up Okafor type #'s......... 12/9 type #'s. Just don't think he will live up to the hype.

Davis and MKG could end up being better players than Lillard, but Lillard has the skills and playing time to shine more in his first year. The other two need to develop a bit, and may well be better 2-3 years from now. I agree that Lillard likely has the best odds of winning the rookie stat battle.

Television market size. Portland = 1,175,100, New Orleans = 602,740, and Charlotte = 1,122,860

This is an old Nielsen link, but the rankings haven't changed.

Yeah, you're probably right.

Jonas Valanciunas shouldn't even be on that list. He played HORRIBLY in the Olympics. And I don't think he's better than Donatas Motiejunas either.

Something tells me Montiejunas is gonna be a star in this league. Legit 7 footer, Not really athletic, but he can RAIN from 3. Not too many 7 footers out their with a wet J like that.

He's gonna be a star but his best qualities is that he's 7 foot and can shoot 3's? You pretty much described Ryan Anderson.

I agree so much. I really don't even think he should have been the obvious #1 pick.

You obviously haven't seen him play. He has post game to brother.

+1

He looked great in the summer league. I actually suffered through watching a few of those Rockets games during the dog days, and he caught my attention just as much as Lillard did, given his role on the floor. I'm not saying I expect him to be ROY, but he's definitely a darkhorse for the All-Rookie Team.
