you are prob dealing with the most arrogant players, journalists, fans in the country and i don't think its close. Its funny though cause they are also the biggest bandwagon fans in the country IMO. 2 years ago, you were lucky to see a celtic jersey. Ask anyone who Al Jefferson was and they thought he was a linebacker for the Patriots. Now everyone from Boston to Hartford has a KG jersey. Even woman and it makes you wanna puke. These same people couldn't tell you where KG came from to save their lives. The Arrogance of fans here is gross. They are the type of fans who cause fights. None of them have a clue the blazers are even a decent except the real die hard celtic fans. I think this was just proven when the boston write called us a can of tomatoes. Pats fans are the worse though. I think they make eagles fans look good if thats possible.

And just so you guys know...the knowledgeable celtic fans despise the blazers. Why? You have no idea how heartbroken they were when we got Oden. The fans who followed the celtics were shocked. They also hate us for trading Telfair who got us roy. Make no mistake, boston fans who know, are not big blazer fans whatsoever. It was even more evident when Ainge tried hard to keep miles to screw us out of cap. Thats typical boston behavior.

The players also have picked up this attitude. Patriots have some of the dirtiest players in teh game with Wilfork, Seymour and Harrison. They have prob pissed half their salaries away with late hit fines. Bleicheck will be known as a cheater no matter what he does for the rest of his career. Then you look at guys like KG who might be the biggest punk in the game today. Pierce has that thug type attitude. Don't know how Ray Allen is on that team. He's prob one of the few decent guys. And from what i hear, looks like rondo is following KGs footsteps. Its really impossible to root for New England teams unless you live here or aren't "winning" lol. I mean seriously, is their anyone who doesn't wanna punch KG in the face?

And as a baseball fan I can tell you that the worst baseball fans in the Majors are Boston, New York and San Francisco - although SF fans only act like a-holes at A's games (they truly want someone to get hurt). I mean, Angels fans and others come to Oaktown and root for their team and I expect that. Boston, NY & SF fans are blind drunk and spoiling for a fight. Nonstop foul mouth. Bigots (everyone they dislike is a cunt or a ***). I don't even go see the A's play the Dead Sox anymore because I can't stand those Boston fans.

Hmm ... so this board *'s out a well known 3 letter derogatory term for gay male.

1) You are right about the massive amount of bandwagon Celtics fans. Last year, mainly in my high school, I saw so many 'new' Celtic fans with their Garnett t-shirts. It was disgusting.

2) If we got Oden, we would have won 16 games last year. Not getting Oden (or the #1 or #2 pick) allowed us to trade #5 for Ray Allen, thereby convincing KG that Boston was the place to go if he wanted to win a title. If you recall, we tried trading for KG before acquiring Ray, and he wanted nothing to do with us.

3) The Pats suck. Don't associate that filth with Boston, it degrades us all.

4) I'd rather have a team of thugs than a team of choir boys.

5) Wanna fight about it?

:ghoti:

We've had a team of thugs before. It was terrible.

There's different types of thugs. There's the Bonzi Wells/Damon Stoudamire/Rasheed Wallace thugs, who didn't know how to win, didn't really care, and always got in trouble with the law. Then there's our thugs, they never have brushups with the law, they are winners, and the only thing they're guilty of is intimidating and harassing the other team.

What about the guy charged with lynching? Wasn't Paul Pierce stabbed? Not necessarily anything on his part, but you don't want your players being stabbed. Better than shooting yourself in the leg, but still bad. Isn't Scot Pollard a major druggie that just hasn't been caught by the cops yet?

KG was involved in a high school incident, and he didn't even lynch the kid. He was there, that's it. And why's it Pierce's fault he got stabbed?

Scot Pollard isn't with us anymore.

Please, Scalabrine has a rap sheet a mile long. I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley.

Well, technically they were winning, and got to the WCF, and we had the longest consecutive playoff appearances streak, and once they left we started losing... but it was better that it happened that why. I love our roster. I wouldn't trade our roster for any roster in the NBA now. Every draft that we had before KP, even taking Martell Webster over Chris Paul, I would do again because we ended up with Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Rudy, Batum, Bayless, etc...

And anyway, I don't mind arrogance from any fan base, tbh. I don't hate Laker or Boston fans because of their arrogance at all. Bandwagon fans make me want to throw up though. And they are really annoying a lot of the time. Laker fans worse than Boston fans imo, but that is probably just because I have to live on the West coast.

2) Exactly! Get over it already!!! Do Celtics fans even realize that the exact thing happened to the Blazers in the lottery the season before? Probably not because it's not news when it happens to Portland. We had the best chance for #1 and fell as far as we could to #4. Fortunately for us fans our GM is a genius and turned it into Brandon, LaMarcus, and Sergio.

4) Been there, done that... I'll go ahead and keep my choir boys, thank you.

5) Okay... but I should warn you, I'm a girl and fight like one. My fingernails are razor sharp and I'm not above fighting dirty. :devilwink:

Well yeah, but the OP's point was that Celtic fans are still mad about not getting Oden, when in reality, that's the best thing that could have happened to us.

THey were probably heart broken at the time, but looking back I don't think they care at all about not getting Oden if it opened up a 3-4 year Championship window.

Even though an Oden/Jefferson front court would be nice. And then Rondo at the point and whatever the rest of the way. That would be an insane up and coming young team.

Not that I'm disagreeing with anything you're saying (mixim), but personally I really like Pierce, Rondo, and Allen. Doc Rivers is very cool guy as well. It's not hard at all for me to root for the Celtics when they're playing.

I can't stand KG. I don't care at all for his attitude and believe he's overrated. He was the least impressive player of their starting unit last year for me.

I'm more partial to the idea of Rondo/Durant/Pierce/Jefferson/Perk, with Gerald Green, Tony Allen, and Leon off the bench.

In the 05 draft we could have traded Pierce for Chris Paul, so imagine us having a core of Paul, Durant, and Jefferson to build around. But I'll take this team. :ghoti:

This is exactly my point of view as well. My in-laws are from the greater Boston area - so we get to go there every once in a while. I like that team - with the exception of KG. Did not like him when he was a T-Wolf and even less so now.

Ray Allen is a classy guy, I always liked him and his game. Rondo is a pleasure to watch and Pierce seems like a nice guy as well (gang signs or not).

KG, however, spit, spit, spit.

Maybe for 2 or 3 years, but not in the long run.

This is exactly my point of view as well.

Ainge was always a bit whiny for me, but hey, he was a Blazer, and apart of some good memories for me. Plus, outside of a few bad moves, he seems to have a special knack for being a GM. Another good guy, IMO.

Ainge is one of those guys that everyone hated unless he was playing for your team. I can remember hating him when he played for the Celtics because he was such a pest. He was relentlessly annoying. Constantly poking a ball away or making a player alter his shot at the last moment or flopping successfully. When he did that for Portland it didn't annoy me at all. :devilwink:

Besides, he's a native Oregonian, you've got to give the hometown guy a little luv for doing us proud.

I understood his point and agree that the #1 pick was more valueable when we got it.

My point is that both teams were "losers" in the lottery and both turned it into more than anyone thought they could. At this point, with their team holding the title, why are Celtics fans still mad about not getting Oden? They wouldn't have won the championship last year if they had won that lottery, that's a pretty nice consolation prize for "losing".

I lived in Boston back in 83-84 and the fans were just as obnoxious back then.

Or getting stabbed and flashing gang signs. BTW, I'd like to thank the Celtics for taking a chance on Sebastian Telfair. You can have your one or two championships with your rent-a-players, that trade will give us more than that.

Yep. You offered us Pierce for the #3, Nick Van Exel and Travis Outlaw.

I tried to find that great picture of the Celtic fan looking at the screen in disbelief when the Celts lost out on the GO Sweepstakes. The guy with the Celts hat on backward with his hands on his head? Then there's also that great photo of a downcast Doc & Danny.

Of course, 3,000 miles away, there was this moment...

I don't really disagree with the first post in this thread, but it's funny to me when somebody says "these guys are so arrogant, now let me tell you how much better than them I am".
