Speaking of people we wouldn't want picking our team, hi Nate. Out of curiousity did Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Ben Gordon make the all-star team?

Ok smarty pants, since All-Star nods mean so much to you, how did Jamaal Magloire work out for ya?

Mags, were you here during the summer where half this board was smarter on the CBA than GM David Kahn?

David khan is a joke. He's not even a good beat writer. I don't know what drugs he slipped in their drink to land the job.

so what you're saying is that you can't possibly use the "he's got the job and therefore more qualified for it than everyone on this board" tripe you just trotted out? ;)

But weren't you essentially saying that the mere fact that guys like Isiah Thomas and Kahn have those jobs makes them more knowledgeable than us lowly internet posters?

Pretty well since I said the coaches and not gms. Nate just used Thomas, which I clearly pointed out would probably be a better coach and gm than anyone in here. Last time I checked, gms don't vote for all stars.

No I said coaches, not gms. You said gms by mentioning Thomas, which is better than anyone in this forum. Am I wrong? I mean you were swinging on lees jock too. I guess he got something right? Also, he got Zach for shit too.

The actual, real, hilarious point in all this is that Isiah Thomas is 10x the GM that David Kahn is.

Oh calm down, Nancy. Just making a joke. (But didn't Jamaal only make it once? And did I ever defend Jamaal? Curious why you brought that relic up?)

they have drafted tristan and waiters with their picks...

Thompson has actually been playing really well lately, Waiters is still an unknown and I think you forgot somebody ... if only I could remember who?

Khan is a fucking idiot. He shouldn't even be a gm. Sometimes I wonder if he's an old poster in o-live with some of the shit he tried doing.

Nik let me know when one of those teams wins a title or makes the playoffs.

Thanks... Keep ur lotto plans coming though.

The only way it pans out is when someone gets extremely lucky and a no brainer is available like Howard, shaq, Durant, Oden (if only healthy), Jordan, James, etc. great talent scouting helps and people, San Antonio won rings with late picks and finding diamonds in the rough.

You clearly pointed out? Okay Mags, you asked for it...

"On December 22, 2003, the New York Knicks hired Thomas as President of Basketball Operations.[12] Thomas was ultimately unsuccessful with the Knicks roster and fanbase. At the end of the 2005–06 season, the Knicks had the highest payroll in the league and the second-worst record. He traded away several future draft picks to Chicago in a deal for Eddy Curry including what turned out to be two lottery picks in talent-rich drafts.
A press conference for Isiah Thomas at the U.S. Century Bank Arena at Florida International University in Miami.

On June 22, 2006, the Knicks fired coach Larry Brown, and owner James Dolan replaced him with Thomas under the condition that he show "evident progress" or be fired.

During the following season the Knicks became embroiled in a brawl with the Denver Nuggets, which Thomas allegedly instigated by ordering his players to commit a hard foul in the paint.[13] However, he was not fined or suspended. NBA Commissioner David Stern said that he only relied on "definitive information" when handing out punishments.[14] Later in the season, nine months after James Dolan demanded "evident progress", the Knicks re-signed Thomas to an undisclosed "multi-year" contract.[15] After Thomas was granted the extension, the Knicks abruptly fell from playoff contention with a dismal finish to the season.

During the 2007 Draft, Thomas made another trade by acquiring Zach Randolph, Fred Jones, and Dan Dickau from the Portland Trail Blazers for Steve Francis and Channing Frye.

Thomas also compounded the Knicks' salary cap problems by signing fringe players such as Jerome James and Jared Jeffries to full mid-level exception contracts. Neither player saw any significant playing time and both were often injured and highly ineffective when able to play."

He was the GM from 2003 until 2008.

Their picks:

2003 Mike Sweetney / Slavko Vranes 7-6 250 C (Serbia-Montenegro) 1983

2004 No picks

2005 Channing Frye 6-11 244 C Arizona Sr. / David Lee 6-9 230 PF Florida Sr.

2006 Renaldo Balkman 6-6 206 SF So.Car. Jr. / Mardy Collins 6-5 224 PG/SG Temple Sr.

2007 Wilson Chandler 6-7 230 SF DePaul So.

He was replaced in April of 2008 by Donnie Walsh, so no he didn't find Gallinari. He didn't find Raymond Felton. He did draft Lee, but he also traded two lotto picks for Eddy fuckin Curry and acquired both Marbury AND Steve Francis. The guy was a terrible GM.

ahem, Nate, don't forget being sued for sexual harassment so that his bosses had to pony up 11M in a settlement.

2nd straight selection. Nice.

Now let's trade him for younger players and draft picks.

It's all about the rebuild, yo!

Sell high!! Derrick Favors might be available!! :MARIS61:

Oh and I hope this stops the ridiculous thoughts of trading away Aldridge in hopes of spending the next six years in lotto hell.

How's the lotto worked out for cavs, wolves, kings, pistons, raptors?

Cleveland has Kyrie Irving! Sure, they have only won 12 games, but they have an All-Star! They should trade him for future picks.

Zach for frye and Francis was a fucking steal. Blackman, frye and lee are all great picks.

Marbury and Francis were in their primes when they went to ny. So fucking what? They were superstars. Aren't you supposed to bring in superstar talent?

You can look at a gm or coach in hindsight and say how terrible they are. Wonder what you were saying when Francis and Marbury were in their prime?

Thomas was the coach AND the GM.

Great, meh, meh, Pretty good, meh.

Cleveland winning 12 games this year two years after having the #1 overall pick = "great"

I'll be sure to note this in reading your future posts.

ahem, Nate, don't forget being sued for sexual harassment so that his bosses had to pony up 11M in a settlement.

and bankrupting the CBA

I think you forgot somebody ... if only I could remember who?

the pick they traded for? yeah they didnt have to lose 60 games a year to do that

thompson is solid, but him and waiters at #4 and #3 is hardly "great", at least not now

I could throw darts at a board of random decisions and do a better job than Isiah Thomas.

Your track record here is pretty awful. Plus, the NBA got rid of Isiah Thomas in terms of running a team, so I'm not sure what your point is.
