No, he's not Richard Nixon. He's the town fool. Pretty dangerous to elect him on those grounds alone.
I think Joe is a bright guy who is well informed and has an excellent grasp of foreign affairs and is pretty objective about bipartisan issues. I watched him in many debates before he was in the executive branch of govt. He's a guy who will work with any politician in DC for solutions and not toe the party line in order to achieve stalemate after stalemate. Is he the perfect candidate..probably not but given the field...I think he'd shake up the inbalance in choices for the presidential race.

I've said many times here that I don't have a candidate I can support at this point...I need some more choices that can actually counter the really dangerous choices we are faced with

Great idea, Mags! Let's do!

barfo
Great!!! Shall we discuss how our federal government for the last 16 years has been completely responsible for how terrible our country has been run? I would love to clean house and have all of them kicked out

The idea that any candidate over the next 10-15 years is going to fix the economy is false...it's a long term problem and it's a long term fix.
Ahhhh the great "it's too late, we must deal with it slowly". While we piss away trillions in process.

Only way you fix things is the moment you start spending less than you take in. That's logic

I can absolutely agree with this line of thinking...I'm in shock

Reconstruction doesn't work that way

What you call piss away, others call invest in...that's a different logic. We piss away fortunes on entertainment and consumables without blinking...you want that new Porshe right? Will that help save the economy or prop up the German GNP

Reconstruction doesn't work that way
It does and happens all the time. Debt consolidation is common place in America. Cut spending on policies that don't work. Rework trade agreements with other countries

I don't spend more money than I make. I don't max my credit cards. I still have enough things to do that make a difference to me and my family. It's called budgeting. Anyone that doesn't is doomed to fail

What's false? Our debt, our revenue or GOP

None of those. The false choice it's you basically saying Bernie it's going to add 18 Trillion to our current spending which will in turn max us out. The lie is that We are broke when that's simply not true. Politicians always push this bullshit notion that we need to tighten our belts like a family because that is bad. Well I don't know too middle class people who don't have debt. Most people have a home loan or student loans. That's typically called good debt.

Bro... That is one of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS to discuss. And Bernie, even in this interview once again said he would save 800+ billion by taxing us 2.2 trillion.

Do you have a home loan or student loan debt? Can you pay off your home loan now scott free?

Total wealth in America is 17 something trillion (GDP). We tax at a GDP of 22%. That's 3.6 trillion. His policy cost 2.2 trillion. Fucking do the math bro

Link?

800x4= 3.2...

Policies that don't work is a pretty big task to gut when we're commited to fighting terrorism and dealing with policing the world in the cause of democracy...explain how you're going to cut this spending...by installing a police state and building a wall on the border? By cutting benefits to poor people or going to war with planned parenthood? Training a better police force isn't cheap. We could declare bankruptcy 4 times and default on loans then open up a new govt under new guidelines with a new name, new flag....we could splinter into smaller nations and localize govt. What's your fix mags? You think spending less on our needs and future will work? I want Brianfromwashington to get his paycheck this month.

It's pretty simple, really.

If Mags has $3T, and he gives $3T to an insurance company, how much does Mags have left?

If Mags has $3T, and he gives $2.2T to Bernie, how much does Mags have left?

Then take in more revenue is the answer? So you support being taxed 40% GDP? That means you will pay more than 20%. The top 1% can't pay it all you know

mags has 3T and knows how to spend that 3T and he doesn't trust Bernie to spend 2.2T of his money.

This is seriously some funny shit. The fact that any of you people trust a federal government that has never balanced their budget since the last term of Clinton with more tax revenue is fucking lunacy.

DC would love Bernie to push this bill. Once he's out, they can redirect funds into another policy and say "fuck you America, we stuck it to you again"

So, healthcare isn't one of the things in the USA that you think is broken? We have to change everything, but let's keep healthcare the same?

That's nuts.

I have no problem paying whatever tax rate is for the greater need for my grandchildren's future..personally I have no debt...zero..no mortgage payment..no credit card. I think we have to tax consumption..if you can shop for luxury, you pay tax toward the greater need. I think the wage worker should get a break and the consumer with expendable income should balance it out when they buy a new car or guitar...tax me. I'll pay it within my ways and means. I save more money from my meager income than most people I know.

Also, mags won't look at any other source besides the ones he agrees with:

http://www.businessinsider.com/bernie-sanders-wsj-18-trillion

But the analysis has also been cited favorably by progressive advocates of a single-payer healthcare system, who note that Conyers' bill would purportedly save nearly $600 billion annually by eliminating administrative waste in the private-insurance industry and cutting prices of pharmaceutical medicine.

"In 2014, the savings would be enough to cover all 44 million uninsured and upgrade benefits for everyone else. No other plan can achieve this magnitude of savings on health care," Friedman wrote in his 2013 analysis.

The Washington Post's Paul Waldmanbacked up Sanders on some of his criticism. As Waldman pointed out, the US currently spends about $3 trillion a year — and will spend close to $42 trillion over the next decade — on healthcare. He argued that Sanders' proposal wouldn't add on to that total, but rather reallocate the way the US spends money on healthcare.

"By the logic of the scary $18 trillion number, you could take a candidate who has proposed nothing on health care, and say, 'So-and-so proposes spending $42 trillion on health care!' It would be accurate, but not particularly informative," Waldman wrote.

way to exclude your fellow countrymen mags....you could also go back to the roaring 20's...don't stop at the Clinton era.

I think if you propose any new policy, you make it work within a balanced budget. As I've already said... We tax 22.5% of GDP roughly 3.6 trillion. The Bernie Healthcare bill (excluding everything else) cost 1.5 - 2.2 trillion. We are left with 1.3 -1.6 trillion to run the rest? You support healthcare being over 55% of taxed revenue?
