If Pels make playoffs, we're not totally screwed. We still have Milwaukee's 2025 pick as a tradable asset. By 2025, Bucks may suck or it could be a year that Giannis sits out with an injury. Does anyone know if it's protected or not?

It wasn't protected by the Bucks but yeah it's got a top 4 protection for the Pels because our GM gets walked all over.

Over a month till the lotto.
Once it finally arrives, we have a better than 50% chance the #6 pick becomes 7-10.
I don't know the exact odds are we don't get that second pick, but it is too high.
We then have another month+ for our bottom-feeding front office and ownership to make trades for another U-Haul full of crap no other team wants.

I tried to care about this team again. I wanted to care about this team again. I guess I have just reached the "acceptance" stage.

Bitterness isn't acceptance.

Can we do better than 2012?

Damn, you might have chosen the two biggest upside guys in the draft in Sharpe and Sochan but also the two guys taken in the lotto who might be the most unlikely to start for a playoff team next season. If we're building a contender around Dame as soon as possible and you can turn Sochan or Eason into Grant... I think you do it. People are sleeping on Grant because he proved he's not a first option but he's never been a second option and has proven that he can be a great third option. Grant is better than Larry or RoCo on both ends of the court. Just look at the dude's numbers, especially when he was playing a role closer to what he'd be playing here.

I am with you on shopping our future firsts and if something materializes trading a future second or the Memphis second and/or sending cash to the Bulls to guarantee that pick. I think that's a must. Hell you could make a deal that wouldn't complete until the new league year begins and include our 2029 first as well... but isn't this idea (that I think is spectacular) completely contradictory to the logic you're using in the rest of your post?
Were you trying to be facetious with the last part? If you weren’t, I don’t get what you’re trying to say. If you were, it’s fine I didn’t get it anyways so no reason for me to look at you sideways lol.

I haven’t really changed my mind on the Jeremi Grant situation. If you can unprotect next year’s first with just the MEM second and give up a top-10 protected pick another year to DET for Grant, fine. I expect us to not be in this position for awhile, so I don’t mind giving up a future first, even lightly protected. But I’m not giving up 4 cheap years of Sochan or Eason for possibly one year of Grant.

I honestly laugh at everyone who says “have you talked to Grant? How do you know what’s going on in his head?” lol. What you do speaks more to me than what you say. He took the same amount to go to a worse team and be the man, his stats got worse, why is “he’s on a bad team” suddenly justify his efficiency? We can always agree to disagree on the matter—but Grant is worth more like a non-lotto pick + Louzada + Bledsoe’s contract to me, not a lotto pick.

____/Little/Sharpe
Grant/Eason/Watford? Yes please. But

____/Little/Sharpe
Grant/Watford? I’m good chief.

I don’t need the lotto picks to necessarily start right away. If Bledsoe’s contract and the TPE plus future assets can land a PF, I don’t have a problem starting Little.

I’d be alright with Grant for the NOP pick if someone who’s talked to him and knows what’s going on in his head can tell me he’s willing to stay on for more than just a year and not go off to the next rebuilding city though. That’d really ease my mind lol.

Yeah no, I’m not saying Grant isn’t better than Larry or RoCo. No disagreement there. I’m just saying I don’t find “he’s better than the two guys we made dumb decisions to trade draft picks for” as a good reason to be like “LET’S DO IT AGAIN” LOL.
For a lotto pick, I’m schleepin’ too…
Snooze snooze

And to be fair, that doesn’t mean I don’t want him on the team at all. Our evaluations on his true value are just wildly different.

We’ve traded pick 15 for a quarter season of Aaron Afflalo before. Grant is a better player and only worth trading a pick 4 spots higher for, and we’d get him for four times as long as Afflalo too. My worry is we ideally want to keep him around about 12-16 times as long as Afflalo, not four. Ya know what I mean?

Yeah, people have posted about wanting to work out an extension before pulling the trigger on Grant for the Pels pick and I think that would be the way our team should do it... I doubt they will but that would be the smart move.

funny thing is Leonard turned out to have a longer career than pretty much everyone picked immediately after him. He’d probably still be in the league if he wasn’t an idiot.
He'll be back also. I'm betting as soon as next season.

If they trade both picks I dunno….will be more pissed with the team than I have in a long time.
So you absolutely do not want them to trade for a veteran even though they have pretty much said they will do exactly that?

Yeah, Meyers Leonard is a veteran and he is available. I'm sure he'll help us win.

If the Blazers have a chance to draft Jaden Ivey at #3 (assuming we move up) or at #6, would you keep or trade Dame? This kid (Ivey) seriously looks like the next Ja Morant.

I thought Simons was the next Ja?
