Monty might be biased... but he sure has his opinion...

“I don’t care what the numbers say or who they’re sending to L.A. -- you don’t put up those kinds of numbers and win games and not consider yourself an All-Star,” Williams said. “To me, he’s better than the guys they picked. He’s done a phenomenal job of carrying a team. I don’t think that’s something people thought he could do, carry a team by himself. But he’s proving he can do it.

I have to question the coaches who picked Griffin over LMA (or even ZBO). What exactly are they looking for out of a player on their own team?

I'm curious of the voting process by coaches. Do some of them care? This isn't a oh they should have picked LMA post. Now, I'm happy he gets the rest. But I wonder if it is similar to how you hear about college coaches voting in the polls. Giving it to assistants, catching highlights, etc. I know they play against all of these guys, but does, say, Jay Triano give a shit who gets in in the west? He's plodding along with a shit team. Maybe he'll tune in to watch highlights, and wanted to see Griffin. Or, maybe he let his kid pick. I wonder if a lot of these guys care at all. Coaches, that is.

Only Western coaches can select Western players, and vice versa with the East.

I still want to know who votes for it based on what criteria, although Griffin is a very good, but limited, player on a bad team. I can see him being picked over Love, who is basically a liability outside of his stats. Or, perhaps his stats make him a liability. Not sure on that one.

From what I understand, these guys definitely voted for LA: Karl + Pop. And Gentry said that the guys he voted for were the same ones listed on the initial all star reserves list, so: Duncan and Griffin, over Love and LA.

Nate can't vote for his guys, but I wonder if he voted for Love. On the same thought, I wonder if VDN or Rambis voted for LA.

Edit: Guessing Monty voted for LA.

Williams foresaw Aldridge’s greatness during his days as a Trail Blazers’ assistant.

"It doesn’t surprise me," Williams said. "I’m no prophet, but I would tell you that two or three years ago I told him he was an All-Star. He has this pessimism about him. He’s always looking at somebody else . . . . this guy’s better. But he’s an All-Star, and he’s proving it now."
