Neither Coles or Moss belong on the Jets, no one on the Jets can get the deep ball to them to utilize their speed.Plus look at Muhammad's situation, he left his team w/ Delhomme tossen him the ball now he's got who? Rex if he's healthy then Orton? Orton can't get Muhammad numbers that Delhomme could.Moss was our sole WR last year, all alone. Now we got other talent who can hog coverage. Moss will be able to get open a lot easier this year, and you'll see it in his numbers.

A QB can make a WR look a lot better than he really is.

I'd say both played very well last season... Brunell did well distrubuting the ball throughout the offense, not just to Moss. Kyle Orton... didn't. He threw to the defense more then his own players. And you can't say that didn't hurt Muhammad's numbers.

Muhammad was OK with a crap QB, and great with a good QB. Moss was OK with an above average QB, and was great with a solid QB. Who's to say the QB wasn't what made the difference?

They don't say hmm Steve Smith put up numbers like junk in his first few seasons, so he is an 88 overall. So the difference in the best reciever last year is a 97 overall to a 92 overall with a top 2 reciever? No, sorry that just doesn't happen.

Thats a trade I imagine the Jets brass would like to have back.

Moss > ColesMoss brokeout cuz he actually played with an above average QB. It also wasnt all Brunell, Moss would turn 5 yard receptions to 30 yarders.

Coles was an improvement over Moss for us.
 
Well, the Jets almost made it to the SB with Moss and only won like 3-4 games with Coles.

Moss also didn't come from nowhere, he did put together an 1100 yard, 10 TD season with the Jets just one year before he was traded.At the very worst, Moss is just as good as Coles was with the Jets. Was being 02 and 03. All of the circumstance you attribute to Coles less than stellar 05 performance is valid, but if you're actually being reasonable, and not just a biased Jets fan, then you would also have to consider that maybe Coles isn't the same guy he was when he left, since his numbers from last year aren't too unfamiliar than the ones he put up in his last year in Washington.
 
Also, if Coles was as good, why would we have traded a 3rd and 4th round pick along with Coles for Moss...

I guess it would probably also be homerish to point out that Moss thrived in the same offense Coles griped about. Besides, maybe Cole's didn't have his lucky shoes last year, or his dog died the day before a big game, who knows. The trade was in fact player for player. Shrewd move by the NYJ front office there :banghead:
 
I swear to everyone's life, 2 years ago I said the Skins should trade Coles and a 1st round pick for Moss. AND WE DID, without the 1st round pick!!david, no, we gave them picks too. Can't believe they accepted it for a 3rd rounder.Now I know Gibbs is amazing and he was in his 2nd year last year, but the Skins didn't improve much (plus losing Arrington with an injury didn't help) and we won games BECAUSE of Moss.

The 3rd round was conditional in the deal for Jordan. Jordan got the Jets a round 3 pick 33.
