The ideal trades and picks around this draft for me would be:

Scoot, Deandre and the worst of our 2029 FRPs for Zion.

Ant and two future SRPs for Anthony Black, Cole Anthony and pick 16.

Rob and our unprotected 2031 FRP for Jabari Smith Jr.

Jerami, Tisse and a future SRP to the Lakers, the Lakers send the Hawks Rui, the Hawks send the Lakers 2 future second round picks and the Lakers send us their 2031 FRP unprotected along with Kleber and Vincent who we waive. This trade could be called in before the draft but wouldn't be complete until the first day of the new league year.

We take Demin at 11 and Fleming at 16.

New rotation: Shaedon, Tou, Deni, Zion, Clingan/Jabari Smith (these two would split time starting at C allowing us to really dictate the mismatch depending on the opponent), Black, Cole Anthony, Demin, Fleming and Kris.

We could push the pace on both ends. Run the primary and secondary breaks on offense while pressing and switching everything on defense. Use the formula that got both teams in the Finals right now, to where they are at. It might be sloppy next season but would tighten up in the coming years. I think that rotation with that playing style would make the playoffs possibly without needing to do the play-in... if healthy. If you have the ability to instigate offense that Deni, Zion and Shaedon bring you really don't need a true PG.

18 Days until the draft and I’m locked in:

Pick #11:
• Jase Richardson

Hypothetical Orlando #16:
• Hugo Gonzalez

Trading into the second round:
• Neoklis Avdalas

Anytime I hear the name Joan Beringer it reminds me of my favorite MLB reliever of my youth;

I like Knueppel before it was popular. But are we really valuing him at a top 5 pick these days?
I think some people won't get over him until everyone relents and agrees with them. I almost think they're trying to convince themselves.

I may change a pick…

I have a strong feeling that Egor Demin has been their target all along.

Do they plan on moving up? I don’t think he gets by Brooklyn.

Trading into the top-5:
• Kon Knueppel

Pick #11:
• Egor Demin

Hypothetical Orlando #16:
• Jase Richardson (ATL linked, pick #13)

Trading into the second round:

Pick #11:

Hypothetical Orlando #16:

Trading for an additional pick:
• Ben Saraf

*Seeing who the Blazers worked out and the rumored 1v1 workout - I want Jase with the #11 but I feel the pick will be CMB if he’s still on the board.

But am I wrong?

and it’s a hilarious skit, so compliment accepted
I don't think Shaedon was the wrong guy, I don't really think Scoot was either... and sure I don't love an old school big that early in the draft but Clingan wasn't a bad pick. Also Kris hasn't showed anything but who has that was drafted after him. I am in no way a fan of our front office but making picks has been a strength of theirs.

So yeah, you're wrong. These guys haven't drafted poorly and that's what your post was saying.

If you're mad about hanging onto guys like Ant and Jerami too long then I'm with you. If you wish we never would have touched Ayton, again that's a good critique. We definitely should have flipped Rob before he ever touched the court here. I don't think it was smart to match the offer sheet for Matisse eiter. So this half assed rebuild has been annoying but not because of the draft picks.

Agreed overall sentiment - Blazers draft selections have been good post Olshey. Id expand that to young additions have been good as Deni/Camara/Banton/etc have all been very good additions.

Blazers issue post Olshey is yes all veteran related:

-Resigning own vets for overpriced deals (Grant Nurk Ant Thybulle)
-Acquiring irrelevant/overpaid vets (Thybulle Ayton Timelord Brogdon Hart Grant)
-Holding onto vets too long (Ant Grant Ayton)
-Not acquiring or trading vets that align with timeline of teams rebuilding roster

Cronin and management have been a two faced GM - one makes great decisions and the other is horrible. Wouldn't shock me if a big part is Kolde micromanaging or such. But we won't know any of that until we have a track record with a new owner.

I might be more excited for a new Blazers owner than any Blazer addition since Pippen.

The thing with all three of those is that they were somewhat unexpected sliders. Not one of them was going to be available (maybe Clingan) at our pick according to any mock draft. So maybe they were under-assessed compared with the players we thought were going to be available. I'd be interested to know.

Agree that not one is a bad pick, and I was very happy for each of them (so a great change from the days of Meyers Fucking Leonard). Funny how the players people are now saying we should've taken over Scoot and Shae (Amen Thompson and Dyson Daniels) - who very well might have been our picks, had those two not unexpectedly dropped - are ferocious defenders with dodgy jump shots. We still wouldn't have our "go-to guy".

With the Bane trade….

Trading into the top-5:
• Kon Knueppel

Pick #11:
• Jase Richardson

Trading for an additional pick:

Exactly one week away!

A bit of a change as I’m reading the tea leaves and picking based on that - not who I want at #11

Trading into the top-5:
• Kon Knueppel

Pick #11 — Too Close to Call:
• Kasparas Jakucionis
• Collin Murray-Boyles

Trading for an additional pick:
<<<bigtime sleeper picks>>>
• Hugo Gonzalez
• Ben Saraf

Trading into the top 5:
-Ace Bailey

Pick #11:
-Egor Demin

Trading for an additional pick:
(mid first round)
-Rasheer Fleming or Asa Newell depending on how high the pick is.

Egor Demin at 11 or Jakucionus..either one and I'm happy.
Trading up....biggest nba ready guy you can get..Cooper Flagg works
2nd round....lights out 3pt shooter over 6'4..I don't know who this player would be but that's what we need off the bench

Trading up: Noa Essengue
At 11: [Essengue then Demin gone] Cedric Coward
Late 1st rounder/2nd pick: Maxime Raynaud

My #1 preference is Kon.

After that I want Essengue.

After that I'd be cool with Demin or Kasparas.

After that Bryant and Coward in no order.

Only way I think we trade up is if Ace falls to 7-8 range.

At 11 I think it’s Essengue or Demin

If we get another pick i hope we take Fleming. Honestly I don’t care if we take him at 11.
