Malcolm Brogdon trade ideas

I mean, talk about being at cross purposes.

Your organization wants to be better right now. You want to add someone who can make a positive impact. However, at the same time you don't want to deal either of two guys who aren't playing a lot right now because they aren't ready to put you at that next level. Oh, and you also don't want to deal either your third or fourth option on offense to get someone that's an upgrade.

What they heck are the Rockets willing to trade? Basically, they're taking their four most realistic, attractive targets off the board, because obviously Sengun and Green are the now of the franchise, their cornerstone.

Well, they do have a lot of picks. And The Expiring Contract of Oladipo. And Ja'Sean Tate.

Just like we aren't interested in moving Jerami and Malcolm... this could be smart posturing or legit stupidity.

No interest in making Houston better, to get a future pick or two that will be trash because Joe couldn’t get a young player out of them, just ballast and late picks.

If you go back to the draft threads the past two years, I consistently reiterated how badly I wanted Whitmore and Eason. Each of them have their issues, but if they are on the table for Brog, you HAVE to consider it.

They own unprotected picks from BKN.

They are obviously not lol

Not everyone wants that, though.

They can't just be the Heat telling teams to take what they want to give them. If you want to take a step up that usually takes giving up something of actual value.

I don't see any available young talent from PHI, NYN, HOU that fits POR.

So let's trade all our young players for more good players to put next to Jerami. I mean, Shaedon et. al. are our actual best assets, so I'm sure somebody will offer us good players for them.

How many good forwards are there in the NBA?

How many borderline All-Star forwards?

How many are available?

He's the best forward we have had since LMA. It has been 7 years. SEVEN YEARS.

I don't care about Brogdon. I'm not really in love with Simons. Ayton is whatever. Forwards are really fucking hard to find right now. They were plentiful in the late 90s and early 2000s. They aren't anymore.

Calling Bullshit. I don’t believe they wouldn’t trade Eason to get better now.

I didn't think about Minnesota until now. They did really poorly in a couple games with Conley out and besides Edwards they are not really strong with guards. They want to be good right now and Brogdon would be great for them. Would they give us Naz Reid (24 years old) and Alexander-Walker? Would require an extra minimum player also to make salaries work.

Even if it was just Reid and filler like Troy Brown, I think I would do it. I think Reid could play C or PF, shooting 41% from three this year with about 9 rebounds per 36 before this year.

Obviously we could use Jabari Smith Jr., Eason would make sense for us too. If Philly wants Malcolm I think they have some tradeable FRPs but you're right no players that make sense for us. If the Knicks want him again it's only picks that they could give us.

Throw in Matisse with Brogdon and get one of the young guys from Houston. They have so many 3/4s. They can afford to lose one.

I would want to get Jonathan Isaac and a first from Orlando.

Good question! And the answer is: absolutely not.
That's what my brother (Wolves fan) says too, but i think it would make sense. Why do they need three top notch centers? They definitely need a top combo guard. I think MN is more ready to compete for a championship than ORL or HOU so they might be more willing to give up youth for experience.

OK, if you think they would need more, I will propose a trade that almost everyone here would hate. Brogdon PLUS Walker for Reid, Troy Brown and Shake Milton.

I am confused about why you would even suggest it. Do you love Reid that much? Or you just don't like Walker?

I do love Reid. he is in the 79th percentile of TS%, 84th percentile of rim protection. and 80th percentille of block %. Now if we were sure Robert Williams III wuould ever be really healthy, maybe we wouldn't need him. Williams actually has better TS% and block % but his rim defense is way lower. I do like Walker, kind of put that in there for Rasta just to see how valuable he thinks Reid is.

If you can fleece Houston for Robert Williams you do it in a heartbeat in my opinion
