My boy is the most positive kid you'll ever meet. Full of life. Full of love. When he was 5 (he's 10 now) he asked me:
Papa, how can I change the world?
Think about the weight of that question for a moment.... I thought to myself: What has this child seen in his short time on the planet that he thinks needs to be changed and what makes him think he has the wherewithal to change it?
I had to answer his question with one of my own:
What about the world do you think needs to be changed son?
People are too mad all the time and we have too much war.
I asked another: Son, what's the opposite of hate?
C'mon pop, that's easy, love
Well then you go and spread as much love as you can, even to those who hate.
He's REALLY taken that to heart...
I've taught him to spread that positivity to everyone he meets. Greet EVERY person with a smile. Let your positivity make someone's day. But always know that not everyone is like that. Also know that some people will use your kindness as a weakness so let it be your strength.
My only fear for him is that someone will treat him less than human because of his thicker lips, wider nose, curlier hair, and darker skin.
