OT Man kills two on Portland MAX

I just quoted myself from another thread. I've posted about that a couple of times. The original post is in a locked thread.

I think the problem is that people need to constantly feel like they're better than someone else. Or maybe they need to blame their problems on someone else. It amazes me how many people are unwilling to take responsibility for their own issues.

I was picked on when I was a kid. Why do kids do that? What teaches them that they need to make someone else feel lesser? Why pick me? What was it about me that made me the target? And similarly, why did those assholes pick you to treat that way? What compelled them to do that? I just don't even get it man. I just want to live my life. I don't want to make other people feel like shit. I don't want to make other people have a bad day. I try to treat other people the way that I want to be treated. I don't expect anything out of others. I don't want any handouts. I just want to be treated well. That's it. I just don't get it. Why is it so hard for some people to just be decent human beings?

People are not good to one another....Charles Bukowski...great post Nateb3.....My son is mixed racially...overseas he was bullied for being half white in public school....here he was teased for being half Asian until he grew taller and stronger than those kids...it can cause anguish or build character...senseless as it is. I grew up with Orange and Green syndrome....Protestant and Catholic wars...had relatives on both sides but by the time I was out of high school I had to fight every kid I grew up with over stupid shit like that....I decided to be a better dad when I got the chance and I did that. The military integrated me with the melting pot we call America...great education...has served me well my whole life...you're right..treat others like you'd like to be treated....live a joyful life. Anger and hate take practice from what I've seen and peace does as well.

Dude pulled a wedding ring off one of the dying guys fingers...damn

Parenting. That's what it's all about IMO.

Every time something like this happens there seem to be copycats trying to get attention for themselves.

Yep

“There’s nothing heroic about protecting the children,” he said. The crowd gave him a standing ovation.

I disagree completely.... I get that this guy probably has survivor's guilt, but two other men died that day. It wasn't just him, and for him to downplay the act of courage that those men displayed, just really annoys me. Maybe he doesn't realize that he's also downplaying what those two other men died for?

I read it as him being humble.

I read it as, it is not heroic to protect children, it is what men do.

And to that end, if men are going to allow batshit crazy bastards roam freely, unimpeded even when they display unacceptable aggression and unwarranted combativeness, then they must take other practical steps to protect the children. Be armed so you present a creditable deterrent to those that would take advantage of those needing protection.

Max killer has claimed self defense, blaming survivor Micah Fletcher.

"Not guilty of anything but defending myself against the violent aggression of Micah Fletcher."

This guy is batshit crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if he's deemed "Mentally Unfit", and shipped off to a hospital for the rest of his life.

I figured it was coming eventually.

Who invented the max? I don't think it was a person from a Muslim country, so really those girls had no right to even be on that train.

Cultural appropriation in Portland strikes again.

I stopped eating peanut butter already.

Dumb.

Cultural appropriation must end.

I should not be able to benefit from tasty peanut butter.

By giving up peanut butter, I shed some of my white oppression on black people.

Telling the judge that he's not guilty and it was self defense very clearly proves that he is aware of his actions, the charges against him, and can aid in his own defense. He is legally same.

Not as dumb as this

You can also consult a lawyer but I read the law in Oregon and it clearly gives the option of being insane at the time of the crime.

This incident could have snapped him back to reality.

But SlyPerryMason Dog knows better.
