Zombie Mario Hezonja to Portland (False. Woj errored. Going to NY.)

Olshey wasted time. He misestimated what the player would get. So a couple of you think that's in Olshey's favor, a good excuse.
What free agents signed this afternoon for $5.3 million or less that Olshey should've went after instead?

How 'bout Davis?

It seems pretty clear that this team believes that ZCo is the future - so Ed really made little sense when Portland - a bit like when they shipped Zach Randolph to let LMA play.

This makes tons of sense given Portland's lack of a consistent 3rd scorer and SF issues.

Yeah, Collins will be a starter but Davis makes an excellent backup (Edit) at two positions.

If you pay me Olshey's salary, I'll get right onto it.

After I answer you, you'll demand that I find the new guy's belt size. And his plane ticket number. I know the status quoer game. Demand every detail till you silence me.

The great thing is Neil is now scrambling for option B because you know, the man always has a backup plan. Remember Chandler parsons. Well yeah that shit turned into Evan Turner. Fuckin plans on plans on plans all day the fucking mastermind NEIL MOTHERFUCKING OLSHEY!!
Plan B will be Lance Stevenson or maybe Kent Bazemore.:ghoti:

At only $4.4M, he would have earned his pay if we only used him at the Towelwaver position.

Yeah, going to miss Ed Davis as he was a fun player to watch and enjoyed his effort every night. As for Hezonja, I would rather have Ghandler or Beasely.

I am willing to bet that ZCo plays starting PF and backup C. This leaves no real use for Ed.
When this kid gets beasted in the post and picks up quick fouls every damn game, you'll realize how much we will miss Ed. I know you know this.

I get what you're saying, HJ; but there's a certain frustration at being so middling and hogtied and watching while others improve around you.

Watching those around you get better during free agency is what has happened pretty much every year forever. Blazers have never been able to attract much in the way of free agents.

Guys, we can't offer more than $5.3 million. If Hezonja or anyone else gets offers more than that there is nothing we can do right now.
The only rationale for losing Davis is because we're trying to duck the hard-cap by acquiring someone in a sign-and-trade or because we're using our full-MLE.

Three words describe the Trail Blazers best

"Paralysis by analysis"

So because the Knicks signed Hezonja we are doomed? As of right now we have 15 roster spots accounted for. I'm not claiming that's a good thing but I've been saying for a week that being patient will pay off this summer.

We have been patient for 4 years.

Nah. I think Hezonja is garbage and furthermore think the fact that he was on Neil's radar is a bit worrisome (although not surprising). And Staukus is actually laughable. Letting Ed walk feels foreboding, and there's this sense of unease (mostly from Dame), and while there's this general notion that Olshey wants to trade and improve the team, it seems typically we get the "it takes two to tango" refrain and the rumors of almost deals which I think we can all agree don't improve the team while it seems many teams are improving...

I was wondering if Woj dropped a #fakenews Woj bomb just so the follow-up guys ("Yup, my source confirmed Woj was right") would get outed hard.
