Again, so you wanted Boogie for CJ?
I would still trade CJ for Jimmy Butler. Actually, Paul George would be fantastic.... but it's pretty widely known that he wants to go to LA after next season.
Color me in the "if I'm giving up CJ, it's for an awesome guy on a rookie contract, not a guy who's going to be paid MORE than CJ and who will likely leave in a year or two"
I still say no to this trade, but if PA makes me trade him and it's for either Paul George or Saric +, I'm going Saric +.
I would in like 2 seconds. Long enough not to seem overly excited. If Boston offered Bradley, Jaylen Brown, and the Nets pick for CJ, would you do it?

Why the hell would they do that? They wouldn't even trade the Nets pick by itself.
Supposedly they were willing to give that package for Paul George (who is, admittedly, a better player than CJ), and it was the Pacers' insistence on Jae Crowder that killed the deal. Why the hell would they do that? They wouldn't even trade the Nets pick by itself.
Isn't that essentially what they were offering for George or Butler?

How does CJ = George?
Thanks. I really appreciate you putting that information together and sharing it.Here's the TEAM ratings, before and after the all star break.
Pre All Star: OFFRTG = 106.5, DEFRTG = 109.0, NETRTG = -2.5, Rank = 23
Post All Star: OFFRTG = 111.4, DEFRTG = 107.6, NETRTG = +3.8, Rank = 6
The defense has gotten better, but the offense has improved even more. With both moving in the right direction, our NETRTG has gone from 23rd in the league (pre all star) to 6th in the league (post all star).
In a more traditional sense, our average point differential has gone from -2.8 ppg to +3.2 ppg. That's a pretty impressive turnaround.

WowFor Crabbe and C.J. (insert obligatory small sample size post all star disclaimer):
C.J. McCollum:
Pre All Star: OFFRTG = 107.9, DEFRTG = 109.3, NETRTG = -1.4
Post All Star: OFFRTG = 110.6, DEFRTG = 107.4, NETRTG = +3.2
Allen Crabbe:
Pre All Star: OFFRTG = 104.1, DEFRTG = 110.3, NETRTG = -6.2
Post All Star: OFFRTG = 110.7, DEFRTG = 109.4, NETRTG = +1.3
You didn't ask, but someone will...
Damian Lillard:
Pre All Star: OFFRTG = 108.4, DEFRTG = 110.7, NETRTG = -2.3
Post All Star: OFFRTG = 113.4, DEFRTG = 107.0, NETRTG = +6.4
And, the biggest turnaround on the team (not surprisingly)...
Noah Vonleh:
Pre All Star: OFFRTG = 96.0, DEFRTG = 105.5, NETRTG = -9.6
Post All Star: OFFRTG = 109.1, DEFRTG = 100.8, NETRTG = +8.3

Well, let's see....... he is just entering a five(?) year deal. George only has one year left on his contract and he's widely rumored to be going to LA.

CJ is averaging more points, while being the #2 option on his team, George is clearly the #1 option.
He's younger (George is 26, CJ is 25).
He shoots a MUCH better percentage from the floor (48% to George's 45%)
He has a higher PER.
He has a higher TS%.
About the only thing that George has over him is name recognition.
I've wanted Paul George for a long time (who hasn't?). But considering the LA rumors, I'd flat pass on him at this point.Well, let's see....... he is just entering a five(?) year deal. George only has one year left on his contract and he's widely rumored to be going to LA.

Well of course you didn't include playing defense in this comparison. CJ doesn't really know what this is while PG has a pretty good idea!
