Nice, but you left a couple off:

John Canzano: Thinks it means that McCollum has a younger brother dying of cancer that will make for a nice column.

Dwight Jaynes: Thinks it means Paul Allen wants to sell the team.

That's good too

The best defense in the world means jack shit if you can't score points. Points = Wins.

There is no surprise that most the championship teams were leading the lead in defense though.

Correct, but what I'm saying is that elite defenses also have to have players who can put the ball in the bucket. Otherwise you end up like Memphis.

thanks! always nice to get in a Quick when you can!

Wait a second--the young lady just made a crack about getting in a quickie, and nobody jumped on that? I don't recognize this place anymore...

You make it to the Western Conference Finals? Yes, please.

I know. My sexiness is pretty hard to beat!

it appears so.

so, did McCollum say anything else interesting at the presser? i know they'll have a video of it up on the team's site, but i won't be able to watch until i get home from work (yeah, like i'm really working right now!)

I was going to say "chick", but that felt disrespectful to me. I'll try to lower the bar next time.

Uh oh. Attractive woman shows up on S2, board goes nuts. The internet in a microcosm.

Funny exchange between #Blazers coach Terry Stotts and rookie @CJMcCollum during his press conference today. (cont)

"He doesn’t really care too much about you knocking down 3s if you’re giving up 3s and layups," @CJMcCollum said, before Stotts interrupted.

Joe Freeman ‏@BlazerFreeman 13m
"I like making 3s, though," Stotts said, smirking, as @CJMcCollum was in mid-sentence. "That's a good thing."

Stotts does understand that you actually need to play defense....right?
My Two Pesos:

I think Stotts undermined his initial message here. It appears from my reading of these quotes that Stotts took the time and effort to begin to instill a sense that, "we know you can make threes, but if you want to play you have to play defense". Great so far.

Then he undermines that message, and his true colors come out loud and clear, when he interrupts his young ward and sends the message that offense is still more important. Which is it?

That Stotts wants his players to make their shots is a 'no shit Sherlock' moment. No basketball player, least not a guard in the C.J. mold, needs to be told to make shots.

If Stotts wants his team to play defense, he needs to harp on it. Not interrupt his young players while they are vowing to play defense, to tell them and the world that, yeah, offense is still more important.

I hope it was more of a leadership brain fart on his part and not indicative of the daily message he sends his players.

Maybe if you guys stopped talking about it, it wouldn't happen as much? You're obviously contributing to it by coming in here and calling her attractive, as many others have already done.

It's like the old "fox in a henhouse", only the other way around. Like a hen in a rooster house. Only that doesn't flow right. Maybe if there were a one-syllable synonym for rooster...
