Exclusive Meet & Greet II: Bill Schonely & Mike Rice edition! Sunday Oct 18th, 4pm

Welcome to our community

Yeah, the 'burbs, lotta money goes into paying cops to focus on stupid ticky-tack traffic shit. But, there's something to be said for that. With two kids, I'd rather have that, be able to keep my door unlocked, all that jazz..... than the other shit that goes down. West Linn's crime rate is the lowest in the state, and the one reported violent crime last year was a domestic case. Slice it how you want, but with two kids, I'd prefer uber-vanilla 'burbs to living closer in or Greshman (plus, the schools and parks are top-level).

That being said, I travel enough to see that the PDX-metro is uber-safe compared to every other major metro area I've been too. Aside from the gated communities in bigger cities, walking through most any streets in the Portland-metro area at night aren't any more dangerous than anywhere else I've been.
Of course and I hear you. I loved living in west linn and wouldn't mind moving back as my wife and I start having kids. My wife grew up in happy valley and loves it over there, but personally I'd rather spend a little more for west linn. But, the cops are still kinda asshats over there. Definitely agree it's better for kids though, as long as they don't inherit that douche mentality some of the privileged kids have over that way

Yeah. Grew up in the 'burbs, and they spend waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much time worrying about what the teens are doing in their free time. And they focus too much on little traffic shit, like not turning your blinker on quickly enough.

And then there's the soccer moms..... the second scariest group of people I've ever met are stay-at-home soccer moms.

Its ironic because parents move to the burbs so that its a safer environment but then the kids want to get the fuck outta the burbs as fast as possible since its boring.

I am getting excited too. Driving down from Seattle, haven't been to a Blazer game in a long time since moving back in 2010. Even though it's the Preseason and it is against the Jazz -- totally stoked to meet Schonz and Rice in person.
A couple of years ago my buddy and I were in the restaurant at the RG before a game and Shonz came to our table and to talk to us. I know he does that but we honestly felt honored.

About three weeks ago the Blazers held some kind of fan event outside, literally across the street from my office. So I blew off the last hour of the day and hung out over there. Shot some baskets, got a couple of free shirts. I just hung out and talked to Rice quite a bit. I mentioned this meet n greet but I'm not sure he was exactly sure what I was talking about, LOL. Really a genuinely nice guy, was really relaxed and friendly. I didn't get the same vibe from Barrett, so I just ignored him. LOL

It's an interesting thing. I grew up in troutdale and live there now, I actually like the burbs. There's a difference in burbs though imo. Beaverton asshats are the worst. They literally think happy valley is a dump and scary. When I'd live In happy valley over Beaverton (who has bad areas too, but they think they are sooooooo better than Gresham) every time.

B-TOWN REPRESENT! :MARIS61:

We were so bored in HS, we took the time to fuck with cops and washington square security. A few of my friends got banned from the mall for life lol

Rice is the friendly Grandpa everyone comes over to see. Barrett is the neighbor who stares into the house, and all you can see is his meancing eyes piercing through your soul.

I grew up in inner southeast Portland, and lived there for 26 years of my first 30 years. But 30 years ago I moved to the farthest 'burb because I took a job in Salem (and I didn't EVEN want to live in Salem. But that's a topic for another thread......). I hated leaving Portland and it took me years to accept my new hometown. But now I love it. We spend a great deal of time in Portland and enjoy it, but we're so glad to get back home. Less traffic, cleaner, better amenities, great access in and out and a reasonable hipster/yuppie ratio. It's not perfect but Portland is no longer the city I grew up in. I've lived in Oregon City (a very nice little town), went to HS in Milwaukie (enough said) and worked in Gresham (biting my tongue here). But at the end of the day, sometimes you just do what you have to do and take the approach that home is where you make it. But Beaverton....? Seems like that might be the rectum of Tigard......or Hillsboro.....or both......

Nah. I hate the douchebags and hipsters that live in town. And traffic. And all the bikes. I've always preferred the 'burbs.

So you were there!

I bought raffle tickets today at dollar tree but I couldn't find any of those, "My Name Is..." stickers. Does anyone have any of those or am I going to have to spend more money on you losers... I mean fine gentlemen?

You mean you are going to take the fun of guessing who is who away from us? I thought that was part of a game and who ever correctly guessed won stuff. Nvm I'm not going anymore, that's my excuse.

*Im still going

So just to reiterate and make things abundantly clear:
